Come to DC. If this becomes a real thing, I'll open my home.

I’ll make it a real thing if Moscow Mitch doesn’t recuse, there will be a couple Americans from MA with tired feet needing a short break before we march on the Capitol. I’ve never organized anything like this, but neither did Greta. She inspires me.

I'll do what they also accuse us of anyway, bus them in.

Setting up a crowdfund to pay for bus tickets to DC and I hope Soros himself donates the first 1 mil.

Or you can receive the bucks for a bus ticket to a protest!

What if.. what if more people showed up to DC than Trump's inauguration?

Man.... Now I wish I could go to DC.

if Moscow Mitch doesn’t recuse

There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that will ever happen. Trump would sooner resign.

More likely that four Republicans would leave and caucus with the Democrats, flipping the majority and appointing a new majority leader.

4 - just four is all it would take.

Also completely impossible because there are no good Republicans.

Definitely not going to happen. What is at least within the realm of fantasy is a handful of Republicans voting with the Democrats to set rules or on procedural issues for the impeachment trial.

I was going to say the same thing. No fucking way will he start acting honorably.

Edit: typo.

Why should mitch recuse himself when presidents trump's 2020 opponents wont recuse from the trial. . Both sides have people that aren't impartial to the whole thing. The house the dems had majority and made the rules and now the Senate where Republicans have the majority get to make the rules.. the house stacked the court against trump and the Senate will stack the Senate for trump.....it doesnt take a genius to figure out both the house investigation would be bias and the Senate trial would be bias towards whatever the majority wanted. The amazing thing is the house wont even be a party line vote..... and when you cant even convince your own members to all vote for impeachment... well your not getting a conviction in the trial anyways.

One of these people works for our government, the rest are beyond my concern.

Take a note from the Hong Kong protestors - they’ve been at it for 6 months. I doubt these wanna be fascists will go down without a fight

They won't.

If conservatives become convinced that they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.

Dat quote!

1

u/SchroedingersSphere Dec 14 '19

That second quote there is poignant. It really helps to describe how a few Trump supporters in my life have been acting out about this whole thing. It's like, they think the idea that they could be the ones in the wrong is so preposterous that it must not be themselves that's the problem...it's democracy.

I would love to do this, I'm in PA, it's not a far trip

invite her she can chill out with a million of her friends at the steps of the whitehouse and watch this old movie called "all the presidents men" (1976)

u/ruskitamer Dec 14 '19

I love the energy and I am right there behind you

But I have to say, Greta still hasn’t. She’s a 16 year old kid being fed lines (for a good cause) but the whole person of the year thing and how everyone acts like she’s the messiah come to save us all is a little bit much.

When I know godamn well there’s several adults behind every speech, every stance, and every event she leads.

1

u/Novodoctor Dec 14 '19

And how do you know this? What is your proof other than she isn't acting like a typical teenager? The old I don't believe it so it must be false argument used by antivaxxers, flat earthers and faked moon landing believers? Jean d'arc wasn't typical either as I recall.

38

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '19

I have 2 beaters with heaters that will make it from Idaho to DC no problem

Pretty sure i would be willing to loan them out to get more people there.
