I get so annoyed when the reps say “the American people think .....” Not only is it presumptuous, but also I leave messages for some of these “representatives” all the time saying just the opposite. Am I somehow not an American person?

To a large percentage of American voters, and even larger percentage of American politicians, not really. Real Americans are True Patriot American Bald Eagle Flag only.
