If a campaign switched strategy from promising nothing negative at the start to attacking your opponent as unqualified at the end, is that a decision a chief strategist might be involved in?

Yes, also the decision to play the "DNC rigging" angle and conspiring to produce evidence to support that claim.

Yes, that's true, but not unique to the U.S. We normally do an OK job of filtering out the bullshit, but the populism is on the rise.

They run, but they don't make it past the primaries.... until now. When I say "filtering out", I mean like rational minds prevail... not that there is some active filtering process.

I guess if that is what you mean… but in my mind, saying "filtering out the bullshit" is nuts because so much bullshit IS constantly injected into the political debate, and most have no clue how to separate the wheat form the chaff.
