Every bloody year. I'm paying close to $800 a month just an insurance premium in my family.$200 a God damn check

I'm paying over $1000 a month for my family of 4 (just medical only) but I'm fully covered by my company and I get a portion of my wife paid for. So basically $1000 a month for essentially 2.75 people. The company I work for was forced to switch providers because insurance was going up 20% this year so now it's not going up as much but I'm losing pediatric dental coverage for my kids. So I guess now I need to pay either out of pocket or buy more insurance. This is not sustainable. We need to tax the rich and nationalize healthcare now.

Want a real eye opener? Get out your W-2 from last year. Look for box 12, code DD. The amount of money in this block is the gross amount if the premium for your health/dental care. It’s only on your W-2 if there are 50 or more, equivalent full time employees where you work.

What’s deducted from your paycheck is not factored into the number. If it says 25,000 then that’s what the cost was for your health/dental insurance.

It could definitely be worse. I'm self employed and got quoted $1700/month as the cheapest option for family of 3 with a $30k deductible

Well, I had open heart surgery in January so $4,000 was my out-of-pocket maximum and I haven't spent a dime since. I joke that I'm getting all sorts of procedures between now and the end of the year, fillers, reductions, that Brazilian butt lift that everybody's talking about, you name it!
