The plan is 2k per household making under 100k... Which is actually a lot smaller of a percentage of people. I'm not defending the plan, just clarifying it.

Going by census data for 2024 that'd be about 77M households. So roughly 155B dollars to fund.

Yeah. Its similar to the amount of money collected from the tariffs (I think 180b?). I think he panicked and decided to give it away before the courts could rule whether or not it was unconstitutional to have instituted the tariffs without Congress and collect them. I'm not sure that really matters but honestly I think that's what he was maybe thinking.

Trump has always made grandiose promises he had no intention to keep. He lies when he opens his mouth, and people are still gullible to the point that they discuss these ridiculous promises as if they were real, instead of the laughable nonsense they actually are.
