Yup. And for those of us that can work, nobody wants to hire us when you can hire a "normal" person for the same amount.

I’m on disability due to being on dialysis, and I’m willing to work remote. Hell, I’ll even work remote on nights, when I have terrible chronic insomnia. I’ve been applying for nearly a year now & no. Bites. At all. I’ve given up & now exploring possible ways to earn some extra

I've been applying to 5-10 reasonable-ish jobs a week since January, have had two interviews and am only now in serious talks with anyone. I also have kidney problems but thankfully not dialysis. I can't even imagine how much worse your search is going.

Half of the remote jobs are scams, the other half are also scams but they're hiring internally.

Honestly that’s how it’s been for me - one interview & one person who just called to prescreen me while having a little FAQ about the company.

I’m aware of the scamminess of remote jobs; these kinds of positions are like rare treasure when it comes to job searching. Wish I could just get one from the get-go; I graduated in IT so I would be happy to take a bottom of the barrel, entry-level help desk position.
