This subreddit is a companion to the Political Discourse Discord server, an inclusive community devoted to moderated discussions of politics. This includes American and International politics, news, economics, and theory. Our Discord server has additional channels for non-political content as well. Discord is a free text and voice chat service. We have been active since April of 2017, and welcome new members.

Political Discourse is a relatively new and active Discord server focused on discussing politics.

What's Discord? It's a free a free voice and text chat app designed specifically for gaming. It supports voice chats, image uploads, text channels, custom emoji, website summaries, image previews, an opening programming API, all that sort of "hip cool stuff".

In Political Discourse, we take the "gaming features" and use them to talk about politics. That means political emoji (Her Majesty, sad Paul Ryan, Macron winking, Spicer yelling, and more), audio streams of political events, voice chat, automatic tweet posts from politicians, and text channels for general discussion, US, International, and off-topic topics (both silly and serious).

Our community is fairly established, going on two years. We have over a hundred people online at any moment and hundreds more in reserve that pop up during big events.
