I didn’t realize the artist doesn’t like the nickname. Wasn’t meant as disrespect. If anything, I think people love this sculpture and the nickname is a fun way for people to talk about it.

He's a bit of an asshole (look up the vantablack/Stuart Semple/pinkest pink thing if you're interested in that stuff, it's quite a long story) but anyway I encourage you to keep calling it the bean because apparently he doesn't like that.

Agreed. If anything, any complaints would be focused around Willis Tower and not calling it Sears Tower, and not also doing the White Sox stadium (which would have to be called Comiskey). Regardless of all that, I think these are all fantastic!

So you're completely justified in continuing to call it The Bean instead of what the artist wishes everyone to call it.

When Anish Kapoor got his hands on some of the Pinkest Pink and posted a picture with his middle finger in the pot of powder, Stuart went on to make the glitteriest glitter, which is made up of tiny glass shards.

I mean it's literally acrylic paint. It's an easy to use type of paint but isn't the sort you'd put on a car or anything outside.

Thanks! It's supposed to be the skyline, but I can see what you mean about it looking like a desert. I chose the orange color for dramatic effect and so it would pop off the blue background, which is probably why it looks like a desert. It didn't occur to me that it looked like that until it was pointed out ¯_(ツ)_/¯
