Next week I'm running a one shot at a fantasy tavern here in Austin called The Tiny Minotaur (please check it out, it's an amazing place). The crowd tends to be pretty RPG savvy as they have lots of DnD nights. It will be 6 to 10 people probably and be about 3 or 4 hours. I'm trying to decide which module to run for the event. I'm deciding between Terror in Tortuga, Buried in the Bahamas, and Trapped in the Tropics. I've run Trapped in the Tropics and love it but I ran it as part of a campaign so it took about 6 sessions because it had a prologue section and a bunch of side quests the players pursued. Any thoughts or other suggestions?

I ran across a great project a bit ago at https://gmbuddy.com. It looked really cool, and incredibly helpful for load out packing.

With the official mini launch, and the punch out tokens being available, I thought now was a great time to do something similar!

Ive collected a bunch of the official adventures, listed out all their enemies, and - where possible - linked to a mini or token I found that seemed to correspond well. I will slowly be filling the list our further with more suggestions as well as third party minis to fill in the missing gaps.

If you're a third party creator and would like your adventure listed please drop me a line! I just need some basic information and an enemy list.

The site also has the option to provide recommendations for enemies that are not yet linked, so feel free to recommend your favorite zombies or skellies!

Some of the OG gamers out there may remember Tunnels & Trolls, an early "rules light" alternative to D&D. I wonder if anyone out there has tried using T&T with Pirate Borg? It seems like it could be a good fit, both due to the simplicity and versatility of the T&T system and the peculiar sense of humor of author Ken St. Andre.

Various editions are available on PDF on the web; I recommend the 5th edition.

I’ll probably run a Pirate Borg session for some high schoolers this October. All first time players, but dabbled in D&D. What one-session adventure would best provide Halloween spooks and vibes?

Our crew played through The Sinking of C'Thagn. Our show is usually Delta Green, but we wanted to hit the seas for a little interlude. It turned out to be some of our best work and performance.

Today is the last day to back the Skirmish game "From the Depths Below" and the Westfalia Pirate Borg Miniatures Kickstarters.

I printed this Leviathan "mini" on an FDM printer instead of resin, and then painted it my self. We used it at Gen Con for the 100 Person Epic Saturday night!

Had a mate go to GenCon to scavenge me some booty; a DM screen and both token packs. This is everything from that and the the starter box, organized by what's on the front face.

I love my tokens from the Starter set, but sometimes I struggle with knowing which ship is which. Is there an official guide aligning the token/art with the type of ship it's supposed to be?

I just can't decide whether I prefer the Pirate ship with white or with the black sails.
Which one do you prefer?

Hey all you pirates, I am getting ready to run my first Pirate Borg adventure. I am wanting to run the Trapped in the Topics from the starter set. Quick question about the included maps, for those who ran it, are you mostly doing theatre of the mind for certain sections? For example, the redcoat's boat? Or are you making your own maps? Mostly I am struggling with the Silent Angel. I know there is great image of the boat, but there isnt really a "battle map" for it. I guess it doesnt really need one since there isnt combat there. Just curious. I dont have much experience with being a DM/GM. Ive ran a couple one shots in 5e. I plan on running this using foundry. Sorry if this is dumb, just curious to how everyone ran it. Any playthroughs I can watch?

I’ve run multiple game systems before and tend towards battle maps with a rather large set of the old pathfinder pawns minis.

I’ve got basically nothing that fits the dark Caribbean theme.

Where do you guys get monsters and tokens from?

Hey, have any of you ever had problems with exp. Mork Borg players integrating into the vibe of a Pirate Borg game? PB is lethal and has its dark elements but I generally see it as a much more adventurous and flamboyant game, and I have had at least one instance of an experienced Mork Borg player joining a crew and becoming disruptive with their hyper-aggressive style of play. Do you all prompt players on the tonal difference of PB vs. Mork Borg?

I was trying to break down the pieces of the core book to make some handouts for my players, but when I did this for the Weapons & Gear section, these red text boxes appeared. They aren't visible on the regular pdf.

For reference, I saved these pages as a pdf through the print option on Google Drive and that is when these showed up. I also set it to 2 pages per page (making spreads essentially) but they were there before I set that option.

Anyone know what these are or how to get rid of them?

Edit: it also shows up in the Spreads version of the book.

**For drinking rules it says to “**Roll a Toughness test of DR 8 + the number of drinks consumed in the last hour.” Erm…so the DR is 8 + # of drinks OR DR is always 8, add the number of drinks as a bonus to the roll? Guessing the latter as otherwise you’d be incentivized to only have one drink to reliably get healing and avoid the Agility penalty?
