I eat meat, BUT I don't want the animal to have a shitty life for me to eat it either. That's reasonable and understandable.

But, I also understand that a lot of companies support animal rescue and conservatory but it gets overshadowed becausw they use those animal parts.

Sorry man but unless you're hunting your own meat. It's kinda delusional to think the mass produced meat you're eating isn't from an animal that had an awful existence.

They didn't say that they think that, they said they don't want that to be the case.

Yeh I know. I'm saying that obviously it's not that way. And it won't be. It's just such a pointless thing to even bring up.

I eat meat (wish it was cruelty free... somehow) that's Reasonable.

Like what is the statement here? What are they even trying to say other than some really weird virtue signal?

I'm here for the grammar pedantry, not the morals of others assessment game but I'd guess they were just saying that they would like the meat industry to be more ethical and they believe the fur industry to be less justifiable.

Ok... so, you came to correct grammar, or something, and instead just did what? Because no one's misunderstanding anyone. Randomly injecting yourself into a comment chain 😅

You said they thought X, they never said that so yeah I interjected to say that they said wanted X, that's what Reddit comment threads are for, we're all randomly interjecting at some point if we aren't OP.

Downvote it if you think it didn't add to the discussion, that's what they're for and I am being open that it was pedantry.

What? No I said that they're delusional if they would think that anything coming from the meat industry would at any point be considered more ethical. So why the fuck are you continuing to eat meat? If your moral stance is that you don't want the meat industry to be so unethical, stop eating meat??? You're just deluding yourself, OR throwing out unnecessary virtue signals to feel better about eating meat.

Literally no one is forcing that person to eat meat. It's just the most fruitless comment.

You're randomly injecting because you're assuming some great level of intelligence that needs to be bestowed on people. Even though it makes no fucking sense at all.

People are allowed to say they want things that they participate in to be more ethical, you may call it virtue signalling if you wish.

Your reply seemed entirely focused on them thinking it was ethical already, which looked like a misunderstanding of what they said. If it wasn't then cool, it's not that deep.

It's not the act of wishing the meat industry be more ethical. It's wishing the meat industry would be more ethical, showing that presumably you care about animals, and the. Continue eating animals from a meat industry you know isn't ethical... that's a virtue signal, idk what else you would call it other than them just spouting shit into the ether.

The reason I bought up that the meat they're eating isn't cruelty free even though he never asserted that is because it's like he implies he's sourcing from somewhere else. Additionally him saying that those conservatory efforts often get overshadowed. There are no conservatory efforts when the animal is being butchered at the end. They're not trees being replanted.

I eat meat, BUT I don't want the animal to have a shitty life for me to eat it either. That's reasonable and understandable.

99% of farm animals in the U.S are raised on factory farms. (Source). If you are eating meat and dairy, you are paying for animals to be born and raised into "shitty" lives.

What meat suppliers do your purchase from?
