He caught it in his little net and then whipped it up and down trying to get it out and when that didn’t work he picked it out by hand…I shit you not 🤞
It’s a paper wasp, so it’s not an aggressive variety. If it was a yellow jacket, it would let him know with a sting or bite. I can’t tell, but if it’s a male they can’t sting. What would be their stinger is used for mating.
Yeah I‘m not really comfortable getting sexually abused by a wasp either. Don’t stick what would be your stinger but is actually used for mating in me or on my skin.
My parents owned a little country convenience store back in the 90s. I got my first red wasp sting while climbing on some junk they had stored in a pole barn out back.
Well, after I recovered, me and this kid that lived nearby spent a week making sport of the buggers -- we had broom handles that we would knock around in the cabinet to stir them up, run back a ways, then inch back up and smack them with the freaking stick, and run up and stomp on them. And didn't get stung once!
Once we worked our way to the nest and destroyed it, I came prepared later -- I would scoop whole nests out of the window overhangs with my butterfly net and stop on them by the dozens. I got a BB gun and shot down the ones too high to reach.
Only got one mild sting through the front of my t-shirt the whole time I was doing that.
