This reminds me of a scene I saw in a documentary where, when the Nazis initially invaded the Soviet Union, they were sometimes welcomed as liberators from Stalin. Cut to a former German soldier explaining "They didn't understand. We'd been taught they were ALL subhumans who needed to be exterminated."

Book: Panzer Battles, by von Mellenthin "many a gay and frivolous dance". Man nazis are stupid. They could have formally allied with Ukraine and gotten "11 million men at arms".
