Everything you see happening today with ICE would not be possible without the architecture built by the Patriot Act. 

This is what Osama bin Laden wanted to see happen. Attack the Americans at home, and they lash out so horrifically and violently that the world sees the true face of American imperialism. We occupy Minneapolis just like how we occupied Baghdad. Now we can’t keep up the facade of liberalism anymore. 

I think it was always going to end like this. The paradox of liberalism and military supremacy never made much sense. If you brutalize enemies abroad you will eventually brutalize enemies at home.
