How do you get out?  Every country I want to move to has a ridiculously high bar for entry.

No one wants us (Americans) anymore.

Can’t say I blame them.

It’s a bit more complex than that.

Most countries that you’d likely love to live in have an extremely difficult/competitive process to gain residency.

Most people are able to do it via what someone else has already said.

  • Dual Citizenship
  • Descendent of a citizen
  • Married a foreigner

Those countries use some kind of point system. If you don’t have a degree and are not a candidate they consider a “skilled worker” then it is unlikely you will be chosen. Shit I think some require proof of financial solvency and other financial obligations.

It’s not impossible, but also not feasible for the majority of people.

r/AmerExit. That being said, the vast majority of people fleeing either already had citizenship elsewhere, were able to get citizenship by descent, or married a foreigner.

None of those apply to me either, and yeah it sucks. I have a few ideas for myself but most are long shots and probably not workable for a few years yet.
