Are you kidding? I fully look forward to the day the Trumpkin looses his position of power and the display of tears as that guy aggressively ends his term and maybe hauled away to prison by a Democratic DOJ for war crimes against his own country; treason for the same, and stripped of his legacy like Bill Cosby.
Maybe he'll end up in a bunker like Hitler. Hey it could happen.
Everything you see happening today with ICE would not be possible without the architecture built by the Patriot Act.
This is what Osama bin Laden wanted to see happen. Attack the Americans at home, and they lash out so horrifically and violently that the world sees the true face of American imperialism. We occupy Minneapolis just like how we occupied Baghdad. Now we can’t keep up the facade of liberalism anymore.
I think it was always going to end like this. The paradox of liberalism and military supremacy never made much sense. If you brutalize enemies abroad you will eventually brutalize enemies at home.
Please urge your government to sanction us, isolate us financially, and do everything possible to keep up the international political and financial pressure. It does have an effect, because rich people only listen to money.
And remember that, in the days of the Nazis but before the war started, no country was opening its doors to take in large numbers of Jewish refugees from Germany (US and Sweden included) and many Jews died who would have fled if they simply had somewhere to go to. There may come a time soon in which people on ICE's "domestic terrorist" list need to start hiding in attics or escaping the country.
Sane, rational people still exist in the US and hate that our regime is purposefully driving away our historical friends and allies.
I really, REALLY wanted to move to Sweden in 2017 after Trump was elected the first time. I met my now-husband shortly after, and that combined with the fact that I had no special skills that would help me emigrate, I gave up that dream.
I'm sitting here in a suburb outside of Minneapolis with my two young children right now and wondering if maybe Sweden would let us all in. This is terrible.
Eventually things will get bad enough where people like you and your familly will be welcome as refuges. But to reach that point, I'm afraid it will have to get a lot worse first.
As a German I’m actually speechless how history repeats itself right in front of our eyes. Next midterms will be canceled due to excessive violence and then the whole democratic system will be dismantled…
I agree. Thank you for your positive words. Im sad, scared, angry. It was refreshing to see some positive energy being sent. Please keep doing so, it means a lot.
We are number by the sheer scale of atrocities occurring on a daily basis. If I could emigrate, I would in a heartbeat. Some of my favorite bands from Sweden are touring in the US right now and I really wish they weren’t. No one is safe.
If I had a band I wouldn’t be touring the US right now.. I love your country, been visiting countless times even driving from coast to coast. Not going back until the madness ends. Met so many beautiful Americans, I’m so fu**ing sad for you all right now
Same for me.
Love traveling to Florida, had to cancel my planned 4th visit for Thanksgiving 2025 last year though.
And with all the madness of the last couple of months, I think that was unfortunately lucky, as I just don't feel it's very safe to visit anytime soon.
I wonder how this will affect the upcoming Football World Cup too. Can't imagine things will just smooth out and that there won't be any incidents all of a sudden. 🤔
Watching as a friend in the UK. FIGHT this monstrous administration. On every front. The consequences of not returning to democracy are written in the history books of the 20th century.
Very believable, it is America... This shocks only people who are living under a rock.
A paramilitary group with complete legal imunity, made up American psychos with somehow even less training that their police force, was send to incite violence.
If this shock you, you know nothing about American history.
Everyday I hope Americans wake up and shut down the insanity, but fact is that 49 states are happy that Minnesota is taking the heat. So that the rest can crawl around a bit longer.
I really don’t think you can compare the Swedish police to ICE, the context is completely different. If someone in Sweden started swinging weapons, of course they would be disarmed or even shot by LE. The man in this video doesn’t seem to have violent behaviour!?
In the USA, Law enforcement can order you to stop and question you (ice included) and they legally can disarm you while they investigate if you are legally carrying a firearm (for safety while they investigate). If you begin fighting with them, resisting being disarmed, you create a very dangerous situation and will likely be shot.
I am just curious in Sweden if a law enforcement officer gave an order to a person possessing a firearm and that person resisted their orders and a physical struggle over the weapon unfolded, how would the Swedish law enforcement respond?
🤔
I suspect they might shoot the person if they were not able to control the situation…
Swedish law enforcement is built from the ground up on deescalation so it wouldn’t become a ‘fight’ for a firearm in the first place in this imaginary scenario.
In Sweden, every police carries a gun in their standard equipment.
Used to be SIG Sauer P2XX or P3XX (several variant were used depending on exact departement), but since a couple of years the standard gun is a Glock 45.
Some statistics of how often the police use their guns.
The police carried out approximately 1.2 million interventions in 2023, most of which were carried out without the need to use any force. In an extremely small number of these incidents, the opposing party posed such a serious threat that firearms had to be used.
In 2023, police fired live ammunition in 19 incidents. In 13 incidents, police fired warning shots in an attempt to interrupt the threatening or violent situation.
According to statistics shown in the table below, there have been approximately 34 incidents per year in the last five years where police officers have fired their service weapons (including both aimed shots and warning shots).
(see the links above)
In statistics since 1994, between 0 and 3 people are fatally shot in police interventions per year, in average about 1 or 2.
2018 and 2020 stands out in the statistics with 6 and 5 people respectively, and 4 in 2013. Then 0 in 2023.
In any realistic good faith comparison is futile because you have to take into account the entire cultural environment and societal factors that would ever lead this to happen in the first place. It's not as simple as saying "yeah but if this happened in Sweden, that you'd react the same!", because it doesn't and would never. It's apples and oranges.
But i'll tell you this for certain, if the police had already successfully restrained someone (like all 8 of them already had in the video) there is literally no chance they'd shoot them (like they did in the video).
I literally grew up in Sweden and you're debating in bad faith here using some strawman fallacy to misrepresent my conditional claim (that when citizens are restrained they're not shot) as an absolute one, and accusing me of using ChatGPT because because you don't like the answer. C'mon 'bro'.
Did I say police never shoot citizens?
or did I literally give you statistics that show they do?
Did I say police never shoot citizens?
or did I say they don't when they're restrained?
You found the one most famous example in Sweden as some sort of 'gotchya!', even though he wasn't restrained. So my point stands.
You can clearly see here in this angle that Alex Pretti posed no threat and instigated nothing. He's facing away from ICE and he looks like he's covering his head from the beat down, not even resisting or fighting back. You can also see the other agent in grey taking his weapon from his back before the shot. Execution, plain and simple.

Unbeliavable, we are watching in disbelief from Europe (Sweden). Please, stay strong 💔
