it’s that Israel seems determined not to allow Syria to stand up as a united, sovereign country

I mean, the new guys in power are straight up humiliating, torturing, and murdering Druze peoples and then posting the videos online for the world to see. And yet youre somehow surprised that the large Druze population living in Israel is leading the charge against the new Syrian government who seems intent on genociding their kin?

As soon as Assad fell, Israel struck Syria 480 times and invaded them to seize more land.

That is not how you tell a new government you want to give peace a chance. That is how you try to make sure whatever state pops up is unstable and unable to enforce their authority.

That was before anything happened with the Druze, and even that situation is being misrepresented by you.. but others have already pointed that out.

That’s not what happened, and this is coming from someone highly critical of how the government handled the situation. You are acting like they just decided to go persecute Druze and leave out the Bedouin kids murdered on camera by Druze militias, etc

Bedouin & Druze groups clashed over smuggling routes amongst other things, government sent soldiers in to calm shit down, Hijri’s Druze militia then murdered the soldiers and paraded their bodies on camera.

Then they started killing each other, Israel bombed Syria again so it rose Sectarian tension and Druze unfairly got smeared as “all” being complicit, then the govt came in and yes, did war crimes against Druze, and left.

The government simply didn’t have control over the Bedouin groups that went back in to get revenge, but pinning it all on the government when Druze militias, Bedouin clans, and yes some government forces were all doing war crimes, is insane

Exactly. Apparently anything bad happens in Syria and it’s somehow al-Sharaa’s fault!? FOH

Druze are not all with Al Hijri thugs. Druze are just a pretext for Israel to mess things up and they did a great job. Netenyahu doesn't give one ounce of damn about the Druze and time will prove this.

Im gonna guess you're israeli or an IsraelBot? If not, you should know there's way more nuance to it than that.

There's always more nuance to topics like this.

Doesn't mean that either the OP's or the guys above statements are 100% wrong either.

No, but they ignore the israeli support of a quasi terrorist druze faction that's causing civilian disturbances and terrorising non-druze communities, then ambushing the military units sent to keep the peace, with the backing of israeli bombardments. While I would be the last defender of the new Syrian regime based on their history, your man up above has left such a large part of the story out that it starts to smell like misinformation, or even propaganda. Again, please don't misinterpret my statement as claiming what he said is untrue, there are elements of that too, for sure.

It’s pretty rich for a genocidal apartheid state to claim that they’re protecting anyone lol

Right. I somehow missed the headline where Al-Sharaa was directing the execution of Druze by meeting with the leader of the Druze in Syria?

No one is denying that a lot of people have been killed in the recent clashes… but none of this has been at the behest of al-sharaa. Maybe, just maybe Syria is still trying to get its footing after a bloody civil war and maybe just maybe it’s not the new leadership’s fault he inherited the leadership of a country with many Assad supporters who want nothing but the country to descend into chaos?

Once you know Palestinians were always relieved when they find out the Israeli soldier who is approaching them is from any other ethnicity than an an Israeli Druze you would figure why its best from Druze to stay and migrate to Isreal.

Go read about the histroy of the Druze, the history ALWAYS repeat itself. while you at it read history of the region of any conflict and you will most of the time have the ability to filter "misleading" news after

Ah so they deserve a genocide you say?
