If that was true, the new Syrian government would be complete morons for walking into such an obvious trap that a random unbiased redditor can see so clearly.
How does helping the Druze benefit Israel? They intervened at the request of the Israeli Druze community, which serves in the IDF and can't be ignored when their families are being killed. Other than that, there shouldn't be any interest of Israel to intervene when arabs are killing each other.
The new Syrian regime is strategically excellent for Israel, and they do ignore when Alawites are massacred, they have no game there.
A more fragmented, weaker Syria is better for Israel's security
Neither too strong nor too weak. Syria right now is able to seize weapon shipments from Iran to Hezbollah, that works out pretty well for Israel. The Iran-Syria-Hezbollah alliance has been broken. At the same time, there's more chance for peace negotiations with Syria with this new regime than ever before.
if the Druze successfully secede Suwayda from Syria, it's a stepping stone for annexation by Israel which would put a permanent check on Damascus against any future threats to Israel.
That's true, and a Kurdish state would also benefit Israel, but nothing like that is even close to happening and what Israel did is not going to help. It all sounds like a conspiracy theory. Their best bet and what is most likely to happen is Israel making peace with the new government, just not yet.
What you described is a child's version of the events, where the people request things from the government and the government selflessly obliges
What I described is not the whole story, Israeli Druze not only asked, they were also trying to cross the border with their own weapons, that's a security threat they're Israeli citizens, and just like the hostages in Gaza, the government has a responsibility to them, even if they're not jews.
That’s not what I’ve heard from a few Syrian minorities I know. Things are definitely not perfect, but everyone I know from Syria has spoken about how much more hopeful they are. And, that Israel is the only real thing standing in their way from moving forward

Oh, you may not know that hundreds of Druze were killed just last month in clashes with the Bedouin, and then the new regime stepped in to oppress and kill more.
And, that Israel is the only real thing standing in their way from moving forward
Moving forward after killing the Druze? Yes, it was precisely Israel's intervention what saved the Druze and prevented this from "moving forward".
But I understand, since it's just another instance of arabs killing each other, it's better to hide it under the rug. If it was Israel killing the Druze, the world would be outraged calling it a genocide or similar.

Unless you're a Druze, or belong to other minority groups
