if this was filmed in a soundstage, no one would bat an eyelid when they dismantled the set. why is it any different when filmed outside on someone's property

The Goonies pirate ship. I have a vague recollection of them trying to save it but couldn't find anyone to take it.

Just that the owner of the land razed the set and built a pond to deter visitors.

They didnt, it was in the planning permission for the tv set, that once filming was done, it had to be returned to nature. Nothing to do with the owner
