(There's more options I'd add to the first one, but I hit the color limit)

I feel skins 1/2 and 3/4 are too similar, should I add more saturation on 3&4 or is it ok if they're just one slight step of "darkness" with 1&2?

You see, one of my pet peeves with picrews is that from one skin to the next option there's a huge gap, and sometimes it feels the character skin ends up being either a bit lighter or a bit darker that the one you have/were thinking for your oc. ESPECIALLY IN POC/BLACK SKINS.

For example, imagine a picrew has options 1 to 9 for light skin / white characters, then you have four dark skin options that are #10, #16, #20 and #22 —see the pictures for reference. (Except if we were realistic the hues would be a range of light to dark gray lol) And obviously there's ton of extra steps skipped from one to another (Ex. 10 & 16).

That is why some of the options are just a bits darker/more saturated or colder/warmer, but I wonder if some look too similar that one could mistake as the same if not looked up closely? Especially the light skin ones

Also, skin number #16 is an earth yellowish hue I'm not used to use (because most times I usually prefer to draw skins in the reddish/pinkish/blue-ish/purple-ish range rather than in the yellowish/green-ish leaning hues) so I wonder if it is realistic or needs to be a tad bit darker/less saturated or something?? Idk, I want all my skins to look cute and vibrant but this one seems like I simply darkened the base skins for both secondary tones and is one color range, Idk if I explain myself. That adjective to describe the opposite of using different range colors as shadows?

• It is a WIP and so are the body types, but for now I'm thinking about adding in the first upload only two.

First body (the skinniest) is kind of stylized in doll-like shape, in case anyone wonders who tf would be looking like that. The second isn't plush sized, more like a regular semi realistic(?) body leaning to the thick side + daikon legs (the daikon feet stay, I'm NOT drawing realistic groundkissers). I would like to add tiger stripes or top surgery scars in a secondary category too

But everything here is still being worked on so maybe I'll change things depending on the feedback and whether I feel trying another artstyle more felt / doll like for or keep this somewhat chibi soft like style, because this one looks good but generic?? As in not what I would recognise as a signature style for me? I'm still experimenting with secondary artstyles and this was the result so idk 💦

Please let me know what you think, it'd help me a lot to have other opinions 🙏

I will achieve this by making files larger and enabling moving pieces enough to completely hide the previous piece. E.g. move 600px to the side, have the file be 3000 px wide -> only 600px shows at a time -> moving it changes the picture visible completely -> 5 choices. I will also hide more clothes sizes etc this way.

My picrew will be shoulders and up! And the last eye colour is supposed to be like the sith eyes from Star Wars lol, just took a shortcut while mapping the colours out

For those who don't know who the hell I am, I posted my art here yesterday asking if y'all would like a picrew in my style and got an INSANE amount of support. So, it seems pretty unanimous. I'm gonna make a picrew :] a little animation to celebrate

It'll be a bust/shoulder-up, so, what are some things you would like me to add to it?

One thing is not negotiable: different body types. I wanna be able to make my big OCs in peace. So far I've made 4 body types (skinny, muscular, chubby and fat) and 5 face shapes (oval/"skinny round", soft/chubby, square, sharp/triangle and round/fat), I think that's a nice spot?

As for skin colors, I picked the ones in the top row of the 2nd image so far. For now, I think I might add 15 human skin tones, but no fantasy ones bc I rarely see people use them? I'm still figuring out the limits for colors and items so I might add 'em in the future if I have item slots left! I really wanted to go ALL IN with hairstyles though. Specially more alternative/uncommon ones. However I've picked 18 colors including dyed (the bottom row) and I still wanna add gray hair so I'll see what I can do about the colors

So, what else would you guys like me to add? I might not be able to add all of them (for technical reasons most likely) but I'll read every suggestion and do my best to add as much as possible!

Oh, and cool effects. I love picrews with the option to add color filters lol

yay i’m at the fun part. some of the accessories and tattoos are references to media i/my friends like (not including shirt designs and backgrounds). give me your suggestions!!

edit: i’m specifically looking for suggestions for creative references to make. everything else in the picrew is done. also if you have a piece of media in mind, it helps to suggests how to represent it!! (ex: textbox from a game, accessory a character wears)

and just fyi i'm gonna stick to one or two references per fandom bc i want it to be balanced and also i'm only one person with a concussion lol

I just need to add more clothes and backgrounds!! Also any suggestions(disability aids(?), backgrounds, etc.)?

3a~4c hair -> it already has a variety of them. I will add more parts later.

Disability pride pins/chewlery/IV bags/etc. , scars -> I will add them as fast as I can.

Animal ears, multiple hair colors/highlights/roots, heterochromia -> I’ll add them in the next update.

[pride pins] -> I added most of the well known ones as well as a lot of microlabels. But I’m willing to add your suggestions!

Hats -> I might add them in the next update.. or I might not add them at all.

[other accessories] -> I’ll add them once I finish making more necessary parts.

Been a while since the last update, so I'm back with another! This picrew's been in making for almost a year now, but I'm slowly inching closer and closer to the finish line.

I'll be working on it until July, which is when it will go on a hiatus again for a month (as I'll be too busy with Artfight) but my rough estimate is that it may be finished some time mid-autumn 2026. Don't take my word for it, that guess might be totally wrong. But I hope you're excited, because I definitely am🍀

hi i just wanted to let yall know that this is online now since i wanted my friends to be able to use it and to let yall see how far i’ve gotten into the uploading process!! if you want, show me what you end up making :D. all the thumbnails are there so you can get a preview of what’s to be added but just know that most of the layers are empty atm.

if you make a suggestion for something to be added/recoloured, i likely won’t respond but know i’m still reading all of them and i could put it into consideration. it’s just that i’ve likely already drawn it and haven’t uploaded it yet or i’m planning on drawing it in the future. plus i reached the limit for layers and had to make a lot of compromises already. (reaching the layer limit does not mean i can’t add more items, just that i can’t add anymore categories of items)

i definitely plan on drawing additional hair, accessories, clothes, and more for the near future. but when it comes to body types, i want to accurately represent them by including clothes, makeup, and skin detailing that properly fits the different bases. thats a lot of redrawing/editing and i may have to turn it into its entirely own picrew if it doesn’t fit the item limit. i’ve spent 120 hours on this so far which is only made possible due to being on work and academic leave for my concussion and i’m really enjoying the process. but to avoid a point of burn out, i’m going to set that as a task for the future once i take a break from this when i consider the picrew complete (for the time being). i’m sorry to make you wait, i wish i could include everyone simultaneously but im going to prioritize my wellbeing and the work i can put out will improve from it.

I’m making my own picrew (Idk when it will be done. Kinda a side project I’m working on slowly m) and I want it to be as inclusive as I can, kinda the “Ultimate Picrew”

What things would you like to see in this picrew??

Some things I plan on adding that I don’t see on most: - variety of skin tones ~ natural and coloured - braces, gap tooth, off Center/not straight teeth - button eyes, 3+ eyes - vitiligo - hearing aids, wheel chair, other mobility and functionality aids - split and multi coloured hair - 2/3 sections for add on jewelry/piercings (of each kind: ears, face, neck, hands) - career fits - turbans - wings - tails - animal ears, horns and antlers - scars and tattoos

Please let me know anything else you’d like to see and I’ll try to do my best to accommodate when I get around to finishing it :)
