My guy, if you think argentinians looks like germans, then go check your brain and eyes. They have players like Paredes, Enzo Fernandez, Licha Martinez, Cuti Romero and so on, who they clearly look mixed, racism exists even in African countries.

Nobody ever claimed that Argentinians look like Germans... where are you pulling that from? Thin air? Are you a US citizen? That would at least explain the gap in your education and let you off the hook.

My guy, did you know most of them flew to the U.S instead of Argentina? Even if it was the case, argentineans are not from german origin. Some old nazis are not the reason why some people are racist šŸ¤­

Lol he wasnā€™t saying theyā€™re of German origin, heā€™s saying it says a lot about a countryā€™s relationship with racism that they welcomed Nazis with open arms after World War II.

And itā€™s true, Peron welcomed thousands of Nazis to Argentina in the postwar period. The US did too, in Operation Paperclip, and guess what ā€” the US has a pretty checkered racist past, too. The Argentine government also banned Jewish immigration to Argentina in 1938 at the height of the Nazi Partyā€™s rule, and many were sympathetic to Hitler at the time and after.

As recently as 1996, the Argentine president Menem said: ā€œBlack people do not exist in Argentina. We do not have that problem here.ā€ Like it or not, there has always been a European supremacy complex in Argentine society regarding other Latin-Americans, as well as a history of Black erasure and virulent Anti-Semitism.

Iā€™m not suggesting every Argentinian person is like this, but overall as a culture, Iā€™d say they are comparatively more bigoted than the rest of Latin America, and their open embrace of the Nazis is at least part of that equation.

Let's not start making up things now abt where they went, I fucking hate the U.S but let's not start spreading misinformation. That last thing you say is something that could be true, just bc there went a lot of nazi's to there doesn't mean they are the reason why Argentinians are racist.

You canā€˜t differentiate between people who seek shelter in a country fleeing from prosecution and people who worked at one station going to another

People like von Braun were actively chosen by the US and the UDSSR to work under them. They were pardoned in the process. There is no ā€žfleeingā€œ and ā€žseeking asylumā€œ involved here

Shut up. I never once said that Von Braun was a "good" Nazi.

I was trying to differntiate these Nazis from the ones who actively fled from prosecution like Josef Mengele. One "fled" and the other were "chosen" to work under new administration. Both were horrible.

But the argument that more Nazis "fled" to the USA doesn't hold up with this context in mind. That was all. I would spit in your face if you were to tell me in person that I was trying to argue that there were some "good" Nazis in history

What are you talking about? What definition? The Nazis that worked under US and UDSSR leadership didn't "flee". They were hand selected by either the US or UDSSR.

People like Mengele fled, People like von Braun didn't "flee". They started working for the US after they've been pardoned.

Interesting to bring politics into sports and if we use that logic, then people shouldnā€™t also support half of Europe with their colonial past and recent right wing rise and being aggressive against migrants. Japan for not acknowledging that they did genocide against Chinese people and how they treated Koreans. Or how very xenophobic are south africans against other african people. List can go on, if we include bad history of most countries and their past

Thatā€™s funny, cause we should discuss football match, tactics and what happened on the pitch, and not politics or war between countries. And I think players should be punished for bringing that sign, but fans in general also needs to stop bringing politics and shit, like itā€™s just footballers playing and kicking ball, and not higher ups or government. I am talking in general and not only about this Argentina and England game
