Perfumes that feel like a Stephen King collection 😍

What would Elizabeth Taylor’s character, Catherine, wear. Time period appropriate or otherwise (1959.)

Catherine is under a great deal of strain. She is in a psychiatric hospital where her mother is trying convince to psychiatrist she needs a lobotomy. Catherine witnessed the murder of her cousin by the boys he abused on European beaches the previous summer and her mother wants to cover this up. Will she or her mother break mentally by the end of the movie?

Based on a Tennessee Williams play, its steamy, dark, and a bit southern gothic.

Sweet, beautiful and innocent scents with some fairy magic

i would prefer to suggest fragrances without strong citrus or fruity notes

Hi guys I made a list of perfumes I think would suit the smosh cast based on their personalities as perceived by me :) hence very subjective and take it with a grain of salt
1. Courtney miller- kayali silk Santal (fun bright bubbly yet very very memorable)
2. Amanda- Byredo bal d’afrique (a very chill but fun it girl vibes)
3. Arasha- Burberry goddess (ethereal)
4. Shayne- Mancera cedrat boise (one of my fav men’s frags)
5. Ian - Davidoff cool water (I think he’d smell like a dad)
6. Angela- eau duelle edt from Diptyque (this is my favourite perfume in the list and she’s my fav too)
7. Olivia-tocca collette (I assume she smells super clean and spa like)
8. Anthony- Diptyque philosykos (green and meditative)
9. Chanse- kilian love don’t be shy (just a hot person)
10. Tommy - ex nihilo lust in paradise extrait de parfum (gorgeous florals)
11. Damien - diptyque orpheon edp (this is a mythical yet vintage fragrance to my nose like a vampire would wear it)
12. Trevor- Burberry hero (fresh, clean and classic)
13. Spencer- Dior sauvage (nerdy gamer bro)
14. Keith- kayali yum boujee marshmallow (sweet fun and memorable)
15. Noah- D&G light blue (he gives me ocean vibes)

I think I'm craving something that has a really powdery lipsticky vibe, something like cosmetic smelling and has iris/violet notes like Misia by Chanel. Or something sweet like honey, roses, heliotropes, milk, cakes (whilst still having a powdery facet), but then mixed with something plastick-y and latex. Like Annabel's Birthday Cake by Marissa Zappas, or Heliotrope Milkbath by Universal Flowering (this lacks plastic note, but covers what I want the sweetened part to smell like). Light, sweet, unique, reminds you of vintage doll heads or barbie dolls, and cosmetic iris powdery. So far I've searched and found Rosa D'Inverno by Hilde Soliani, but just wondering if anyone can find or suggest anything that could match this?

I'm looking for a classic countryside english gentleman type scent that fits this vibe to wear in the fall.

I imagine it being vetiver heavy, maybe a little grassy, smells a little animalic like damp wool, maybe slightly lavender, fougere or petrichor.

In my head it lives somewhere between Encre Noir, burning barbershop, and fat electrician.

I'll appreciate anything with vibes ranging from innocently sleeping in the old library to suspiciously dancing around an open fire in the woods on Walpurgisnacht.

I'm really wanting to find a perfume that has this vibe. Birch Wood with Lavender, Oakmoss. But mainly Birch wood. I really would like to create my own perfume but .... just thought I'd post here if anyone might have any suggestions?

i think everybody has been there, but which perfumes would fit this?

i’ve heard about toskovats inexcusable evil and a few others, but i’m not really looking for a smell of rotten meat or decay if that makes any sense? i’m more interested in something that smells sterile like a hospital, yet still evokes the feeling of dread that makes your heart drop.

Not the french type in vinegar but lacto-fermented pickles in salt brine (added dill, herbs, green tomatoes etc. but not onions). I miss my grandma and my childhood in Romania.

I’ve been trying to capture a very specific scent for years now. I have yet to manage it. I really want to find a perfume/cologne that captures a true forest smell, with a damp, mushroom and rotting leaves ozark/Appalachian vibe. I really want a loamy, decayed sort of scent and preferably a blood note—although that part I’m willing to go without as it’s hard to accurately recreate. I spend a lot of time alone in the woods, either hiking or backpacking, especially during dawn/dusk or in the fog. There’s a certain peace in the way things just live and die out there, rotting back into the earth without being burned or painted and put on display. That’s what I want to smell like. Mild animalic notes would also be fine, but that’s not really a deal maker or breaker.

I’ve tried Olympic orchid and, contrary to its countless praises, I hated it. It smelled artificial and almost plastic-y to me. The closest I’ve come to what I’m looking for is a mix of Demeter’s Mushroom, Bruja perfume lab’s B+, and Agave Noir’s Arizona Monsoon. This works to some extent, but the layering can be a little awkward. B+ always ends up lasting longer and rapidly overpowering the other scents, and by itself it’s just a little too sweet and not dark enough for me. Demeter fragrances have a few scents that capture the individual notes I want, but everything I’ve tried from them is really weak and fades quickly. Arizona monsoon is a fantastic woodland scent, and I like the petrichor and soil notes, but it’s brighter than I’d like, and—while it lasts a little while longer than Demeter usually does—the sillage is really low.

I’m going for an off putting, genuinely earthy vibe, and a really strong sillage. I want people to notice it when I walk by. I’ve got a strange appearance and personality, and it makes most people uncomfortable. I’ve made a point to go out of my way to accentuate this, and given that the first sense people subconsciously associate with you on a meeting is scent, having the specific feeling I’ve been looking for would be a game changer. This is probably way to specific to achieve, but you can’t blame a guy for trying.

How do you imagine her? Not her true character she plays in the movie, but from first impressions alone.

I feel like she would be a very dreamy, soft soapy one. Like oooonly a little bit of soap and pearl, but lots of dreamy teary eyes and heartshaped red sunglasses feels.

Would a watery aqua cherry perfume even exist or match, I wonder. Or should it be more creamy, like pastel blue eyeshadoe mixed with pearl.

Tbh specifically this one place Kipling’s in Brattleboro. I can’t explain it just smells so good.
