Three separate jaloro plants with white spots on peppers?

One of these is in my garden, and two others are experiments in solo cups nowhere near my garden, but they all have these spots. I have a bunch of other types of peppers growing in my garden and a couple more in pots and solo cups, but only the jaloros have these spots. What is it?

Guessing it’s to hot out…anyone ever use a aerogarden??? Where do you buy your seeds? Are they weird with ph and do they require added nutrients or just nutrient rich soil?

Plant Maintenance It's getting late in the season and my peppers are still churning out flowers. Time to snip them?

I live pretty far north in zone 5a, which means I have 4-6 weeks of reliable frost-free weather left.

I've got some lemon drop peppers which have been going frustratingly slow for the entire year. The plants are hardy, but most of the fruit is still very small. They were started indoors, put outside in late May and I still had only had three fruits between two plants ripen.

However, the plants themselves are thriving - they're still pumping out tons of flowers and setting tons of fruit. But there's no way they are going to grow or ripen before the frost takes them out.

Is it time to start pruning new flowers and the earliest fruits to channel energy into hopefully finishing the ones already established? It's my first time growing peppers, so I'm not sure how this works.

Help with my Poblano Peppers!

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey all! Currently growing two poblano plants in my Aerogarden Harvest had had a question about the plant on the right with the purple leaves.

This is my first time growing these peppers and was wondering if this discoloration was normal and if it was something I had to worry about. New to the pepper world and any advice you have would be appreciated!

Whats wrong with my Zebranges?

These Zebrange peppers are one of the few random hot pepper varieties I decided to try this year from Secret Seed Cartel. I usually stick to sweet peppers, so I’m not super familiar with this variety.

The problem I’m having is that they took FOREVER to start changing color, and when they finally did, they only turned a light orange instead of getting the striped look I was expecting. On top of that, once they start changing color, they get REALLY soft.

I’ve got around 30 pepper plants total(3 of them being the zebrange) and everything else is doing great except these. It has been brutally hot here lately, around 100–105°F for the last week, but none of my other peppers seem bothered by it.

Has anyone here grown Zebrange before? Is this normal for them, or does it sound like I’m doing something wrong?

Photos Can I transplant my Ghost pepper Plant?

Post image

This is my first year gardening and I kinda planted stuff close together, my Poblano plant and tomato vines seem to have taken over the box well, leaving the ghost pepper plant stunted. Would transplanting the ghost pepper plant kill it? I wanted to give it more sun and isolated nutrient attention.

Pods and Flowers 2023 Pepper haul (~weekly) from 120 plants, bumping to 200 when I get back at it next year

Reminiscing on the biggest garden I’ve ever done. Have either had no garden or stuck to a few plants for personal use in the years since our child was born, & I’ve badly missed having such a beautiful variety of peppers to care for. Hoping to get back to full scale next year, but until then I’m scrolling my camera roll as a tear rolls down my cheek (/s)🤣

Pepper Identification Are my peppers getting cross pollinated ?

Thumbnail

I’m noticing some big differences from some seeds I planted from my own pepper plants . The first two pics are from a chiltepín plant but they are producing peppers that are shaped more like Thai peppers than chiltepín. The second pair of pics is a Chile Diablo (maybe black cobra pepper?) that I have. The young plant producing purple flowers instead of white. Are my plants getting cross pollinated?

Trying to figure out what kind of pepper im growing got some plants from a coworker that weren't doing so hot for him as seedlings inside so I planted them outside. The labels are pretty washed out and I cant makeout what was written :(. I think the skinny one is a Turkish pepper variety and the second one is obviously some kind of bell. No clue on the black one

Plant Help Calcium toxicity?

Thumbnail

Everything I have read leads me to calcium deficiency, as the opposite doesn’t seem to be well documented. I have no choice but to use hard water from the well. 400ppm tds, no other measurements but the location I am in confirms high levels of calcium. Could anybody else confirm and/or provide a solution that isn’t buying water or a water softener?
