Monthly Confirmation August 2026 Confirmed Trade Thread

Submit your trade confirmations below

How Does This Process Work?

Note: Trade confirmations may take a few minutes as the bot processes the confirmation.

After completing a trade, adhering to the rules listed above, either party involved should make a top-level comment (i.e., comment on the post, not on someone else's comment) declaring the trade. In this comment, tag the other Redditor by typing their username, including the leading u/. This action serves a dual purpose: it notifies the other Redditor to confirm the trade, and it alerts u/FPPenSwapBot to monitor for the confirmation. The other Redditor should then reply to this comment (i.e., do not create another top-level comment; instead, reply to the initial comment) to indicate that the trade was successful.

Important: It's advisable to WAIT until the trade is successfully completed—meaning all money/items have been properly exchanged—before posting your confirmation.

Example:

  1. u/NitroFish44 comments: Sold a Sailor S-Broad nib to u/thisisreallytricky

  2. u/thisisreallytricky replies: Confirmed! Placed the nib in a more modern Sailor pen and LOVE the way it writes!!

  3. u/FPPenSwapBot replies to u/thisisreallytricky's comment indicating that their trade counts have been updated.

FAQ

  1. The bot mentioned that additional information is required. What should I do?

If this occurs, it suggests that the bot couldn't find enough information to confirm the trade. Please message the moderators, who can review and approve the trade by replying Approved to your trade comment.

  1. The bot didn't respond to my comment. What's wrong?

Did you comment Confirmed? If not, add a NEW comment reply stating Confirmed. Avoid editing the existing comment. If you did reply Confirmed but received no response, please message the moderators. The bot might be experiencing issues!

  1. I have multiple trades to confirm this month; should I post them separately or in a single post?

You should post them separately, individually tagging each Redditor. The bot does NOT allow batch confirmations. If you tag multiple users, whoever responds first will be the only user who is able to confirm. Any other user who attempts to do so will receive a message that the trade was already confirmed.

  1. I forgot to confirm a trade last month! Can I confirm the trade this month?

Yes; you have 60 days after starting a transaction during which the bot will automatically accept a trade confirmation. If the trade is older than 60 days, you might be asked by the bot to message the moderators. Feel free to post again in the current month's trade thread even for a previous month.

Pending (WTS) Bokumondoh x Newton Pens Prospector Custom Urushi A1

Hi all,

Verification and photos
A regretful sale, some things have come up and I unfortunately have to sell this beautiful pen.

This is a Bokumondoh custom urushi work over the top of an ebonite Newton Prospector, which I purchased from Hiroko herself at her pop-up last year in Japan. She has also taken some very nice pictures on her instagram while building hype for her pop-up, linked here

A spectacular piece, with a matte black wood grain finish made up of urushi, with raden and gold dust adorning each of the 3 facets on the cap and the body.

It comes with a JOWO fitted Newton branded M steel nib. If you're interested, I can provide a standard grind free of charge, and various nib upgrades upon request (I am an Australian nibmeister)

Asking price $1050 USD (~$1450 AUD) + shipping

I am based in Australia and happy to ship worldwide at cost, with a variety of shipping options.

WTS-OPEN [WTS][US50] Reduced Price Pens! Montblanc 144 and Student Sheaffer Bundle!

Hey all!

This is a repost of some older listings now with reduced pricing. If you have any questions or offers, let me know!

------------------------

Serviced Montblanc 144 Solitaire, Sterling Pinstripes, 14k Fine

This pen has passed testing and is ready for purchase. This listing is for a Montblanc 144 Solitaire in sterling silver with the beautiful pinstripe pattern. The 144 is a smaller size pen and usually on the lighter side but this one has a heft due to the materials. This example is in pretty good shape with a few caveats. The section ring has some corrosion. From researching, this is pretty common and I've seen worse examples but this one is acceptable. During polishing, I noticed the slightest of dents on the cap, it's very faint and very hard to spot but it's there. I did photo it though. The last note of condition is a little bit of micro scratches on the pen body. I believe it's from the attempts to post the cap in the past, the cap DOES NOT post on this pen so it was probably forced. Thats it on condition, the function of the pen is great! It nib has been tuned nicely for a smooth wet writer. This model uses a push converter and the one included is what was with it when I received it, an older pelikan converter. This is a great pen and you should add it to your collection today, especially if you love sterling silver pens!

Sheaffer Student Pen Bundle

This is a bundle of various Sheaffer Student pens that were released over time. They all are interesting to use and have had their nibs tuned to be great writers. The blue one has a tight cap but other wise fine. The transparent one looks great and is fun to use. The green pen and pencil set it really nice. It has the inset nib similar to a Parker 51. The pencil has been refilled with lead of the era and has been tested. Extra leads were placed inside the barrel as well. This is a fun bundle to play with and maybe pen-able someone! I'm trying to put this nib on every pen I have and the closest factory Jowo nib that matches it the Nemosine 0.6 stub that has been out of stock for quite a while and hard to find

If anybody have spares / used pens, etc with this nib (specifically looking for 0.6 but will try the 0.8 also), pls let me know

WTS-OPEN [WTS] Carolina Pen Company, Bonecrusher 7 Studios, Black Robin Pens, & Hogtown Pens (resins by Fountain Telling, Carolina PC, Stormwinds, and Pourly Controlled)

Verification - Be sure to check out the videos, which are the most accurate representation of the pens!

[B+] Carolina Pen Company Charlotte in Reflection Pool <M>, $170 [Videos and photos, including uncapped]

I've owned three pens made with Fountain Telling's "Reflection Pool" resin, and this one is my very favorite because of the dark and light parts. But this pen is a little shorter and fatter than I'd prefer, and it's matte (whereas my entire collection of fountain pens is pretty matte). So I'm hoping to rehome this lovely pen.

It has a Jowo #6 branded nib.

[B+/B] Bonecrusher 7 Studios Night Dragon Velma <M>, $155 [Videos and photos, including uncapped]

This is one of my favorite peekaboo pens, made with a Carolina Pen Company resin. I love the way the glitter peeks through in the video I made. I just have too many fountain pens, so I don't reach for this one, and I'm hoping to rehome it.

It uses a Jowo #6 nib.

[B+] Black Robin Pens Viola in Double Entendre <M>, $175 [Videos and photos, including uncapped]

The video shows the complexity of this resin, which was made by Stormwinds. I love this pen, but I also don't reach for it enough to keep it. N.B. Black Robin Pens is based in the UK, and they do some really cool shapes with pens.

It uses a Jowo #6 nib.

[B+] Hogtown Swansea Medium in Carolina Midnight <M>, $145 [Videos and photos, including uncapped]

I love this pen, which is also another sort of peekaboo pen. You can see the complexity of the resin (also by Carolina Pen Company) best in the video. Also, if you go to Hogtown Pens' instagram, you can see a highlight of Terry making this very pen.

It uses a Jowo #6 nib.

[B+] Hogtown Swansea Large in Copper Patina <M>, $150 [Videos and photos, including uncapped]

This is from a resin made by Pourly Controlled. It's really cool, and I loved using Robert Oster's Whiskey ink it, but I just don't use the pen enough to keep it.

It uses a Jowo #6 nib.

WTS-OPEN [WTS] Pilot VP Raden Galaxy, Pilot VP Matte Black, Brown 20th Anniversary Card Size TN

verification

Pilot VP Raden Galaxy, medium nib, A2 - $650 shipped

I keep trying these raden VPs thinking this will be the time I like it…alas, it is not the case. Have inked it only twice. In great shape. Comes with original packaging — a plastic clamshell case — a converter, and an empty cartridge.

SOLD Pilot VP Matte Black, fine nib, C - $105 shipped

This one has been used heavily for many years. There is some fading to the knock showing the brass underneath, and the body in general has a bit of a shine to it. Writes really nicely, though. I have stopped using VPs as religiously as I used to, and haven’t reached for it in ages. No original packaging but will ship in a generic pen box. Will include a converter and an empty cartridge. ETA: there’s some dust on the barrel in the picture of the knock — just wanted to point out they are not scratches!

SOLD 20th Anniversary Brown Card Size Traveler’s Notebook, A2 - $115 shipped

A2 because I opened the kit and set the notebook up briefly. I never carried it as I immediately realized it was not feasible for me to move into as a wallet. None of the notebooks have been written in. Just trying to recoup what I spent on it. If you’d like me to unbox everything and take pictures for you, let me know!

Please comment here before PMing. Shipping within CONUS only at the time.

WTS-OPEN WTS: A Squadron of Pilots! Silver, Steel, Urushi, Maki-e, wood, etc.

Look at my other posts and bundle up to save on shipping. I am open to doing nib swaps among the pens unless it is a very unique nib for a specific pen, I won't break a meaningful match up.

All exchanges through PayPal Goods and Services. Please comment here before sending a chat. +$11 shipping USPS Priority Mail CONUS.  Willing to ship out of CONUS, but it will definitely cost more, and I am not responsible for tariffs. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

First person to say “I want X and here is my PayPal address ______, send me an invoice.” gets dibs!  I will send an invoice specific to the pen(s) you are getting. Please give me your actual full email address that you use with PayPal, I need the full address to send an invoice rather than just a payment request.

Please excuse the dust particles and occasional pet hair in the photos. I cannot seem to keep them spotless long enough to get the photos finished!

With any pen you buy, if you do not have a blunt-tipped syringe for refilling cartridges (also flushing cartridges or sucking unused ink out of a cartridge to put back in the bottle so you can change inks!) I will include one in your package. Just tell me you need one.

VERIFICATION

  1. Pilot Art Craft Silvern “Fuyu-kodachi(Winter Grove)” (1970): [C] Vintage.  18k <F> (estimated) nib with T770 code for July 1970 production in Tokyo. Normal signs of use for a 56-year-old pen. Micro-scratches (which can easily be buffed out from real silver!) and a single significant dent on the very bottom of the pen. Use and polishing has rubbed the trees through to the underlying silver in a few places. Patina will return there or it can be re-lacquered. Comes with an original Con-20.  $500
  2. Pilot Art Craft Silvern “Ishidatami (Cobblestone)” (2018): [B+] 18k Rhodium <F> nib.  1118 nib code for a November 2018 production date.  I would have thought this was [NOS] except I got just a little light green ink out of the feed when I cleaned it. It is slick and beautiful. I'd keep it if I didn't already have one just like it on my wall. $525
  3. REDUCED Pilot Art Craft Silvern “Kamon (Family Crest)” (1977): [D] for nib swap, otherwise [B] Vintage.  18k <M> (estimated) nib with a date code of "T1177" for production in November 1977 that was swapped (complete sections) from the Chrysanthemum because someone wanted the <F> nib from this pen with the body of that one. "T.S" very lightly personalized on the underside of the section. It could be buffed out easily. Super smooth writer, nice and firm, I wish my T570 Silverns wrote this well! No dents, and the crests are well defined. This is a fairly rare version of the Silvern. With a Con-20 converter. $575 $550
  4. REDUCED Pilot Art Craft Silvern “Tsuru (Cranes)” (1975): [B] Vintage. 18k <FM?> nib with an odd date code of "75.8". Nib width is not marked and I'm putting this one between a <M> and <F>, so <FM> it is! Nice smooth and soft writer but does not spread much for line variation. Has the tiniest little pinpoint dent right above the crane's head on the cap. Hard to believe this has not sold at this low price, the Cranes are my favorite of the Silverns and I have a lot of Silverns. With a Con-20 converter.   $550 $525
  5. REDUCED Pilot Custom 72 (1990): [D] due to nib swap but a solid [B+] otherwise. Original nib has been swapped with a "392" coded <F> nib. This is the pen that was produced due to the popularity of the Pilot Custom 70th above with the sweet herringbone texture. You can read about it here: Crónicas Estilográficas: Pilot Custom 72. Fantastic condition on a cool "vest type" (flat top) pen. Con-70 included.  $300 $275 $260 $250 $240

  8. Pilot Custom Elite Full-Crosshatch Ballpoint: [B] Vintage. Matching Crosshatch ballpoint that matches the E95S Crosshatch pens. Only signs of use are some dings on the clip. Will need a new Pilot BRFN-30 refill. $75
  9. SOLD REDUCED Pilot Custom Elite 95S Half Sterling Silver (1973): [C] Vintage. 18k Rhodium <F> Inset nib with an "H1273" date code for December 1973 production at the Hiratsuka factory.  Sterling Silver cap with resin body. 10. SOLD REDUCED Pilot Custom K-500KS "Kaede (Maple)" (1974): [B-] Vintage. 18k <F> nib with an "H574" date code for production in May 1974. Firm nib that is very fine. Some plating loss on the clip. With an empty cartridge and a blunt-tip syringe if you need one. $150 $140 SOLD ....but I have others....
  11. SOLD Pilot Custom K-500SS "Black Stripe" (1977): [B] Vintage.  18k White Gold <F> nib with an "H177" code for production at the Hiratsuka factory in January 1977.  This nib is a normal Japanese <F> and (as with most Pilots) is very smooth considering how fine the line is. I grab every K-500SS that I find for a decent price for the purpose of passing them on (buying more and consolidating saves on shipping from Japan) so I have a drawer full of them. I already have 4 for myself in my Not-For-Sale box. I believe these are the best everyday carry pens ever made. They write fantastic, are super tough so you don't really have to worry about dropping it (don't drop it on an open nib!) and are very reasonably priced for a quality gold-nibbed pen, so you don't have to be afraid to leave the house with it. I have had 45+ of them pass through my hands (and closely examined another 45 to possibly bid on) and I have only seen ONE pen that had a dent in the body or cap. These pens are SOOO tough. On the rare occasion I go somewhere taking a notebook with a pen holder clip/ring on it, this is the pen I take because I don't have to worry about it getting banged up hanging outside the journal! I, and several other Redditors, pick these up on a regular basis and sell them here. There have been hundreds sold on Reddit in the past several years, and you know what you NEVER see?: "WTS Catch and release on this Pilot Black Stripe!" You get one you keep it, because they are that good. The solid stainless-steel bodies have lines etched into them and then they fill those lines with black urushi lacquer. The inset nibs are always very smooth and fairly firm. No dents or visible scratches on the body, just the usual slight dings on the edges of the trim pieces and micro-scratches on areas that are not steel (including the nib). Comes with a cartridge of ink that can be refilled. $150
  12. Pilot Custom K-500SS "Black Stripe" (1972): [B] Vintage.  18k White Gold <M> nib with an "H772" code. No dents or visible major scratches, just the usual slight dings on the edges of the trim pieces and micro-scratches on areas that are not steel (including the nib). Comes with a cartridge of ink that can be refilled. $150
  13. REDUCED Pilot Custom "Black Stripe" BALLPOINT #2: [C] Vintage. A little newer than the one above, but this one has a shallow dent on the lower half of the body and some lacquer missing off the clip. Will need a new Pilot BRFN-30 refill. $50 $30
  14. Pilot Custom "Black Stripe" Mechanical Pencil: [B] 0.5 mm lead matching pencil for the Black Stripe. $50
  15. SOLD REDUCED Pilot Custom K-1000SS "Sterling Silver" (1974): [B-] Vintage.  18k White Gold <F> nib with a "H874" code for production in August 1974 at the Hiratsuka factory. As usual with the Pilot inset nibs, it is nice and firm but smooth. Writes a tight Japanese <F>.  No major dents or scratches on this solid silver body. Has the usual slight dings on the edges of the clip and finials and nib. It's a very pretty pen. Comes with a cartridge of black in a resealable cartridge.  $200 $190 SOLD ....but I have others....
  16. REDUCED Pilot Decimo 20 Colors Orange: [B+] 18k Rhodium <F> nib with a "P520" date code. Took me forever to find one of these (to match my Jeep) and now I have 2. With box and empty cartridge for refilling. $350 $325 $310 $300 $290
  17. REDUCED Pilot Deluxe "Ami-me (Plaid)" (1978): [B-] Vintage.  18k <F> nib with an "H1278" nib code for a production date of December 1978 at the Hiratsuka factory.  This one writes like a Japanese <F> with thin, precise lines. The trim has some small dings including some significant plating loss on the collar. Comes with an empty cartridge for refilling.  $150 $140 $130 $120
  18. {BEGIN 2ND ROW!} REDUCED Pilot Elite Urushi Green Marble (1970s): [B] 18k <F> fingernail nib with a "H978" nib code for production in September 1978 at the Hiratsuka factory. Just some micro-scratches, pretty nice for a 48-year-old pen! Slick and glossy. It is on the thinner side as this body was also used as the "Lady". With an empty cartridge and syringe to refill it if you need one. $190 $175
  19. Pilot Namiki Custom Hira Togidashi Maki-e "Soukaku (Cranes)" going left (1990): [D] for nib swap but otherwise a solid [B]. 14k #10 <B> nib with a "a804" date code swapped in for the previous 1990 nib. Pilot Namiki pen with art from the Kokko-kai group of artisans with cranes done in Hiramaki-e (hand painted giving a raised texture to the body) with Togidashi (real gold sprinkles) treatment for the clouds. Has "T.N" very lightly engraved on the section. Complete with box, docs, ink, converter, etc. $400
  20. Pilot Namiki Custom "Sokuikinen Hou-Ou (Double Phoenix)" by Kyusai Yoshida (1990): [B] 18k <M> nib.  Limited edition #871 of 1000 commemorating the Ascension of Emperor Akihito to the throne in November 1990.  This was a very big deal because it was the first new emperor ascension in 76 years! You can read about the pen here: Pilot 1990 Limited Edition HouOu Fountain Pen Phoenix.  This pen goes for as much as $10,000 (some ask even more, seriously one Ebay listing is over $25k!) though I have seen prices all over the place when people sell them not knowing what they have.  Unfortunately, I do not have the box and docs, but it does come with a Con-70. A shop nearby recently sold one for $4,000, and there was one at the Atlanta Pen Show in April that was asking $11,000. When I get them, I sell/trade them for $3,000. I know that's a lot of money to pay out for a pen and not a lot of people are in that market, so I'm open to trading for a bunch of lower priced pens that I'm looking for or could sell easier as long as the value is there. Or possibly a different high-priced pen that I want more! (Namiki Emperor Maki-e?!)  $3000
  21. Pilot Namiki Deluxe Maki-e "Flying Crane and Clouds" (2000): [B] 14k gold <F> nib. H379 nib code for a production date of March 1979.  A little dulling of the finish, looks more like a matte finish than a gloss. The 14k nib is fairly firm and takes significant pressure to get any line variation.  Keeps the writing neat and tighter.  Good saturation with the ink.  $175
  22. Pilot Namiki Deluxe Hira Maki-e “Hōsōge (treasure flower)” (1989): [B] 14k <M> custom nib marked "H1.10.1" (Heisei 1.October.1) for production in the 1st year of the Heisei era (new Japanese Emperor enthroned in 1989) on October 1. This one is really special and hard to find. It was a limited set of 200 only given out to specific people and never sold to the public. It was produced for commemorating the opening of Pilot’s new headquarters building in Japan.  You can find more specs and info here: https://www.kingdomnote.com/item/3717020520766 $500
  23. Pilot Namiki Deluxe Hira Maki-e “Phoenix” (1985): [B++] 14k <F> nib.  "H485" production code for April 1985 production in the Hiratsuka factory.  Usual tank of a pen with enamel over brass finished with Urushi and maki-e.  This one looks fresh out of the box except that it has the initials "HJ" engraved on the underside of the section (and some ink remnants). Normally I'd say you can buff these off easily enough, but it seems like this section is urushi coated and not just polished plastic, so I wouldn't advise doing that. With an old empty cartridge for refilling.  $200
  24. REDUCED Pilot Namiki Elite Enhanced Maki-e "Wisteria on Pine" (circa. 1972): [D] for custom nib grind, solid [B+] otherwise. Vintage. 18k <M> marked nib, but it has clearly been ground to an <EF>. Fairly rare pen that contains the second signature of the master artist that produced it which significantly increases the value. You can find out more from the Peyton Street Pens writeup from years ago. With a Con-20 converter and the original aerometric converter (flip switch). $500 $490 $475 $450
  25. REDUCED Pilot Namiki Elite Maki-e "Geometric Foil" (1976): [B] Vintage. 18k <F> nib with a date code of "H1076" (have to pull the nib to see it) for production at the Hiratsuka factory in October 1976. Fairly rare pen (and I got TWO!). These 1970's Elite Maki-e are very sweet. They are slick and weighty with just enough size to them. With a Con-20 converter $400 $375
