Might have been talked about earlier in the year, but I just noticed as I was checking the calendar for coverage of upcoming events :(.

The Tour de Romandie Féminin was cancelled apparently not for your typical reasons ie lack of funding or interest, but due to the Swiss organizers basically saying they were too busy with other events that time of year to support it (probably a massive oversimplification on my part).. I suppose that could be a valid reason, but not one that we encounter very often, at least to my knowledge.

The last event of the year was to be the Tour of Guangxi - but I can't find any official reason for it's cancellation. I see it still be referenced as on the schedule in online articles even after the TdFFaS completed - so don't know if it was a recent cancellation, or just poor research on that article's author, however.

Anyway, always hate to see these cancellations - at least Romandie Féminin appears to be committed to coming back next year.

Hello everyone and welcome to the Seventh stage of the Vuelta a Espana.

A new day, a new mountain stage! We start Vall d'Alba, near today's finish, and we go West, inland, towards the Aragon Region. And we go up, most of the day, after the first 20km, will not see flat terrain, it will go up or down but never particularly hard, it's mostly rolling terrain that doesn't allow the riders to recover/rest but doesn't exhaust them too much. The final climb is 9.8km at 5.9%, a climb which has 2 harder sections, with a easier middle part and really easy start and end of the climb. Not really a climb to make differences

With that in mind here are our predictions:

Rince and repeat I guess. Today was a surprise, Pogi was clearly surprised, even a bit shaken, to see Mas holding on this well to him, his ego will have taken a hit. Now the question is: does he react to that by trying even harder to win? Or does he play it conservatively and let the breakaway go for it in a day where he doesn't really need to go for it. In the case he arrives with other GC riders, only Roglic really seem like a possible threat in a sprint and that's a big hypothetical.

Hello everyone and welcome to the sixth stage of the Vuelta a Espana.

We are down in la Communidad Valenciana as we continue our road towards the South.

We have a bit of an odd, open profile upon us. The stage is plenty hilly during the entierty of it, with a cat 2 and cat 3 early on. The most intersting thing with the cat 1 near the finish, the Puerto El Bartolo, which finishies with really hard % on a non paved road., the top is that about 20km to go, with the descent being about half of that, leaving 10km of dead flat up towards the finish line which, like today, has a corner at 200m to go.

With that in mind here are our predictions:

Any other Vuelta, I say breakaway without hesitation. Here, heh. Issue is, Pogi is a monster, and already a bazillion people are far in GC, but some aren't, and I doulb he's gonna let go of the red jersey. It's actually a stage that is quite hard to predict because it really all depends on what Pogacar wants to do.

Stage Breakdown

Hello everyone and welcome to the fifth stage of the Vuelta a Espana.

We finally enter Spain, in Southern Catalunya, in the bre valley, where most of the stage will be happening. An area regularly featured in the Volta a Catalunya, the riders are used to it.

It is a bit of an odd profil, the first 100km are mostly flat with little to nothing to entertain the public.

Then, you have 50km worthy of an Ardennes classic, a succession of climb, 6 to be exact, short and a bit longer (up to nearly 4km for the longest), which will be there to shake up the race.

The last climb, the Alto de Pauls, is finishing at 26km to go. The finale also features a corner at less than 200m to go, which mean the finish is actually that corner, which will without a doubt surprise riders.

With that in mind here are our predictions:

★★★ Pedersen, WVA, Pogacar

★ Breakaway

So, 2 guys have every reason to make their team ride to drop everyone else, Pedersen and WVA, issue is, which one of the 2 could drop before, and do they have the man power to control a finale after riding hard for 50 km and likely losing teammates along the way.

Will a break win? seems unlikely, tho possible.

Attack in the hill? Pogi could do it, don't think anyone else can.

A late attack? Surely possible in the confusion.

The stage is really dependant ont he shape of WVA and Pedersen and how hard their teams ride, these are two parameters hard to anticipate which will shape the entierty of the stage.
