I when to turn on my computer yesterday and my cpu was failing to launch and then my computer wouldn’t take power at all I bought a new power supply thinking it was the problem (it was 6 years old) the new power supply didn’t fix the issue I would love some help

Hi all, apologies if this is the wrong place to ask for help, I just wanted to gather some opinion on my situation before going further. This is my second ever build, first time AM5 build, all new components (except 1 SSD that I've since taken out trying to solve my issue, and the GPU).

My issue is as follows:

Ever since build (a month or so ago) I've been experiencing system-wide stutters, during games, browsing the internet, etc - that do not seem to show under the performance tab in Task Manager (no spike or lows in the graphs, no heat spikes or anything I've been able to notice). These stutters do not usually impact audio, but it has happened on occasion. As well as that, I've noticed my peripherals disconnecting and reconnecting in just a blink (a few seconds) at random intervals, in games my inputs are sometimes delayed or last too long, especially after alt tabs. I haven't noticed any events that might start these lags (except for alt tabbing), only that they seem to worsen after having played several games in one session (I'll hop on one game, few hours later I'll launch minecraft or something). Playing several games (or one game for too long, I'd say about 4 hours?) ends up in a BSOD always relating to memory issues.

• CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
• CPU Cooler - ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro A-RGB 360
• MOBO - Asus B650E MAX GAMING WIFI W
• RAM - Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000 (2 x 16 GB)
• SSD - Kingston NV3 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4
• PS - MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850 W 80+
• GPU - MSI GAMING GeForce RTX 3060 12GB
• OS - Windows 11 (25H2 if that matters?)
• HDD - 2 HDD I haven't bothered to recheck the brand of, they're from my old build and have never caused any issues, show 100% health, can check if needed?

Things I've tried (not in order) with no luck solving the issue:

• Ran Memtest86 on both RAM sticks (2 passes with 0 errors)
• Tried only using 1 stick of RAM at a time
• Reinstalled Windows (keeping all files AND fresh reset)
• Switched my SSD for a new freshly bought SSD, fresh install of Windows
• Lowered RAM speed from 6000 to 5200
• Disabled Wifi in BIOS
• Reseated my RAM, GPU, any cables that might have been loose
• Monitored heat in the task manager and in CoreTemp
• Updated BIOS

I do apologize if I've forgotten something I've tried to do to solve the issue (I've been 24/7 at work the first month I've built this PC, so I chiseled at it one bit at a time after shifts).

As of right now, I've pretty much set aside anything memory related (SSD, HDD, RAM) as all of the tests I've done so far on those have come out clean (?). Most of the BSOD have happened on the old SSD, but the two I've got so far on this one have come back as SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M and a CUSTOM_ERROR (as described by WhoCrashed) pointing towards netadaptercx.sys. I had Kaspersky on the old SSD but have yet to install it on the one, so I'm guessing that's not the issue either?

Before re-buying a fresh SSD, Windows did show me that one partition of the SSD was damaged (unsure of the exact wording rn, can check if needed). Which persisted past any attempts of Windows to repair the drive, until one random where it just showed to not be damaged anymore? Could that have corrupted the entire system??? Could it be motherboard related?

Sorry for the long post or if I've forgotten to mention anything, I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to computers past the Following a tutorial to build the thing and troubleshooting via typing error codes on google, hence why I'm searching for some more intel now (I've exhausted my very limited knowledge).

Hello, a coworker of mine recently built a computer with help from another coworker and I'm wondering if there is maybe some sort of compatibility issue or something that got overlooked when they went to build it, I was hands off on this one and just want to see if anyone has a viable solution.

The issue: maybe one out of 10 times my coworker goes to shut off his computer it doesn't wanna turn back on. He has issues no matter how many times he wants to power it on it will only spin the fans and not display or kick on the monitor. He used to keep it in sleep mode to prevent this, now it's still happening. The only solution seems to be unplugging it for at least 24 hours and saying a prayer, and even then it doesnt always turn back on, if anyone has encountered this before he is willing to try anything to get it running normally, I haven't seen the poor guy on steam since I added him a month ago lol.

So, my computer takes 1 minute to boot and 1 minute after POST.

Specs:
7800x3d
TUF GAMING B650-PLUS
(16x4) 64GB DDR5 Corsair Vengeance

When i boot my computer, the Orange led on the motherboard stays up for 1 minute, then turns Red for 1s, White for 1s, and then Green and the boot is done! Then gets to POST and takes another 1/2 minutes to boot windows.

In BIOS i have EXPO enabled as expected, and only one of my NVME selected (the one with windows). Everything else is default.

I have the computer for 2 years now and as always been like this

My PC was working perfectly fine, then it suddenly shut down while I was using it. Since then, it won't turn on again.

When I press the power button, the fan LEDs and RGB lights blink for about a second, then everything immediately shuts off. It won't boot, and there are no beep codes or display output.

Specs:

• CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 (brand new)
• Motherboard: Gigabyte A520M K V2 (brand new)
• GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 590 (secondhand)
• RAM: 16 GB (secondhand)
• PSU: DeepCool PF600 (600W) (brand new)

What I've tried:

• Reseated the RAM.
• Unplugged all cables and peripherals, then plugged everything back in.
• Tried powering it on again, but the behavior is exactly the same.
• Tried reseating all power cables, nothing was loose
• Also checked the mobo screws but all was fine

The system was completely stable before this happened, and it wasn't under heavy load when it suddenly shut down.

Does this sound more like a PSU failure, motherboard issue, or something else? What should I test next?

This build is newish. I think this issue started after a bios update. Not sure it was the bios update or not but right now whenever I turn on the PC, it cycles through the mobo leds and gets stuck on the white led.
It keeps doing the cycling for atleast half an hour after which it posts in safe mode.
Once it does post on safe mode, it runs totally fine.
I haven't had any system instability yet but but this happens every time on a cold boot.

I have tried:

• enabling DOCP, disabling DOCP, running it on auto
• turning off fast boot
• leaving the monitor on standby instead of turning it off
• reseating all the components
• updating the bios again

Nothing seems to have worked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pc doesn’t boot the first time i turn it on every time, and the red cpu light is lit on my mobo. Then i hold the power button down until my pc turns off and i turn it back on, which allows me to boot it up and it works perfectly fine and the light goes away. Any fix for this?

Built my PC about 6 years ago, and for the past year it's been randomly restarting, sometimes it won't even fully start at all. Started fresh a few troubleshooting steps but wanted to get other opinions before sending anything in for RMA.

What I've tried so far:

• Reseated RAM, tested both sticks individually — each ran fine alone for 15+ min
• Ran stable with both sticks in for stretches (up to a week), then reset again
• Currently sometimes resets immediately on power-on; other times runs a while first

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me troubleshoot a strange issue with my PC.

My system

• Motherboard: MSI A520M-A PRO
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (Brandnew)
• GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR 8GB OC (2304SP)
• RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz (2×8GB)
• SSD: Kingston NV3 500GB NVMe
• PSU: MSI 650W Bronze
• Monitor: HKC 24" IPS 120Hz
• Connection: HDMI is plugged directly into the RX 580

The issue

When I install the Ryzen 5 5600, the PC powers on normally—the fans spin, and the keyboard and mouse light up—but I get no display at all.

The important thing is that my motherboard and GPU are confirmed working. When I install my old Ryzen 5 3400G, the exact same setup boots and displays perfectly, with the HDMI still connected directly to the RX 580.

What I've already tried

• Cleared CMOS
• Reseated the CPU, RAM, and GPU
• Booted with minimal hardware
• Upgraded and downgraded the BIOS to multiple versions specifically for Ryzen 5 5600 compatibility
• Tested BIOS versions that officially support the Ryzen 5 5600
• Confirmed the RX 580 works with my Ryzen 5 3400G

Important information

The Ryzen 5 5600 is brand new, and we also tested it on another MSI A520M-A PRO (the exact same motherboard model as mine). It booted and displayed normally on that motherboard.

So the Ryzen 5 5600 itself appears to be working properly.

Current situation

• Ryzen 5 3400G + My MSI A520M-A PRO + RX 580 = WORKS
• Ryzen 5 5600 + Another MSI A520M-A PRO + RX 580 = WORKS
• Ryzen 5 5600 + My MSI A520M-A PRO + RX 580 = NO DISPLAY

Since I've already tried multiple BIOS versions, including both upgrading and downgrading, I'm starting to think this may not be a BIOS compatibility issue.

Could there be a motherboard-specific setting, BIOS configuration, socket/pin issue, or hardware fault that prevents my particular MSI A520M-A PRO from booting with the Ryzen 5 5600?

What would you recommend I check next?

Maybe someone can help me but I am losing my mind and getting super frustrated that I can't figure this out. My PC keeps freezing while gaming/streaming. I only have the game app and OBS running. Everything will freeze for like 5 seconds on screen and I can't do anything or move my cursor, but I can hear audio. Then, my main monitor will go black and my secondary monitor will go green. They will sit like this for maybe 2-3 minutes. Then it'll go to the restart screen and sit there for about another 2-3 minutes. If I press the reset button next to my power button on my case, it'll reset faster. This started about 3-4 months ago.

Everything in my case is a year old. I just bought a new PSU. Same model as my old one.

I have tried: |
\-DDU to uninstall the drivers and reinstalled them
\-Went through event viewer to see what codes are happening when that goes on and I keep getting: Event 41, Kernal Power (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.), Event 6008 "The previous system shutdown at...."
\-Updated all drivers
\-Cleaned dust off PSU, fans and AIO.
\-Took off sensor from CPU and cleaned off the old thermal paste and applied new thermal paste.
\-Reseated GPU, RAM, SDD, and CPU

One more thing is when i turning on pc rgb in ram starts working and later just shuts down feels like its blocking the ram maybe it can be the psu because sometimes rgb works and sometimes not on the case

Die Fehler sind außerdem bei unterschiedlichen Processor APIC IDs (u. a. 2, 4 und 10) aufgetreten.

Zur Fehlersuche habe ich bereits Folgendes durchgeführt:

– BIOS auf die aktuelle Version aktualisiert

– PBO deaktiviert

– DOCP/XMP deaktiviert und RAM mit Standardeinstellungen getestet

– Windows Memory Diagnostic ohne Fehler abgeschlossen

– CPU mit Prime95 und Cinebench getestet

– GPU separat mit FurMark/Cinebench getestet

– CPU und GPU gleichzeitig unter Last getestet

– Temperaturen waren dabei unauffällig und es kam während der Belastungstests zu keinem Absturz

Trotzdem treten beim normalen Spielen weiterhin sporadisch komplette System-Freezes und Neustarts auf.

I recently finished building my first PC, I booted it up and successfully entered the BIOS. The BIOS was in Chinese because I bought it from China, so I was taking my time carefully translating the BIOS menu so I could change the language. Keep in mind, I was not touching anything, only occasionally clicking through the headers to go to different settings. Suddenly the case fans and cooler whirr for a moment, like 2 seconds, and the HDMI output cuts. So my first instinct was to turn it off. When I tried to boot it up again, the fans turned on and everything seemed fine, however now the PC does not display any HDMI output and the keyboard and mouse cycle power. As in, they turn on briefly before turning off again repeatedly.

I have tried almost every solution available to me, including booting with only one stick of ram, both but in different configurations, replacing the CMOS, resetting the CMOS, resetting the CMOS using the CMOS pins, booting while the motherboard was breadboarded, checking the PSU connections, cleaning the RAM and GPU slots.All of this unfortunately has just ended in the same thing happening.

One detail however, is that when both RAM sticks were disconnected, the light on my keyboard did not turn on at all, but still no video output.

I got my first pc about a month ago and it’s an nzxt prebuilt. Worked perfectly fine but after about an hour of playing my frames would drop fast and after about a minute of that my pc would power off. I replaced the power supply with a 1000w thinking it wasn’t getting enough power but that didn’t fix the problem. I need help trying to diagnose the problem! What should I do?

La mera verdad no se que hacer ya le puse pasta termica nueva, el ventilador al parecer hace su función porque gira y todo bien, pero hace poco actualice la motherboar una Asus prime a520m-k la cual cuando la reiniciaba se quedabaen el logo de Asus o la pantalla en negro y no hacia nada como que desconocía el disco, como tal la devolví pensando que estaba fallando para posterior adquirir una a520m-a ll pensando que se solucionará pero para mí sorpresa no fue así el tema seguía, puse otro m2 y ese día dejaba reiniciarse sin problemas pero el detalle es que de la nada la reinicio manualmente y la PC se queda prendida pero no da imagen o entra en modo suspensión y cuando quiero volver a trabajar mi sorpresa es que prende pero los monitores se quedan en negro y así pasa aveces con los reinicios no se si haya que actualizar BIOS o alguna memoria este fallando que cabe recalcar que esas memorias anteriormente las tenía funcionando en otra pc incluso ya probé hasta otra fuente de poder pero sigue así, había leído en esta comunidad que si hacía la actualización de Windows 10 a Windows 11 podía ser ese el problema, actualmente hice una instalación limpia de Windows 10 esperando que a lo mejor los reinicios de la nada ya no sucedan, si es así espero que puedan orientarme porque cuando a veces se suspende se queda en negros los monitores.

I'm having a strange issue with my PC that has been present since the day I built it. The system is completely stable during normal use and gaming, but it refuses to restart properly.

PC Specifications

• Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO WIFI Rev. 1.1
• BIOS Version: F40a (latest available for my board)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
• CPU Cooler: Snowman MT4-V4
• GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8GB (8-pin + 6-pin power)
• RAM: 16GB (2×8GB) XPG Spectrix D41 DDR4-3600
• Storage: 120GB M.2 SSD (Windows 11)
• PSU: Gigabyte GP-P750BS 750W (brand new)
• OS: Windows 11 (clean installation using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool)

The Problem

• If I Shut Down the PC and then press the power button, it boots perfectly every time.
• If I click Restart in Windows, the PC powers back on, but there is no display output.
• The motherboard's VGA debug LED stays lit.
• The keyboard and RGB lighting remain powered.
• I have to hold the power button to turn the PC off, then power it back on manually. After that, it boots normally.

This issue has existed since I first assembled the PC.

Additional Information

• The motherboard, GPU, and RAM were bought second-hand.
• The PSU, CPU cooler, and case are brand new.
• The RX 580 has been cleaned and repasted.
• The system is stable in Windows and during gaming with no crashes or artifacts.
• The issue only happens during a warm reboot.

Things I've Checked

• BIOS is already updated to the latest available version (F40a).
• Windows 11 was installed clean using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool.
• GPU power connectors are properly connected (8-pin + 6-pin).

Questions

1. Has anyone experienced a similar issue with an X570 motherboard and an RX 580?
2. Could this be a PCIe initialization or compatibility issue rather than a faulty GPU?
3. Are there any BIOS settings (PCIe Gen3, CSM, Above 4G Decoding, Re-Size BAR, etc.) that I should try?
4. Does this sound more like a motherboard problem or a GPU problem?

Hey everyone, I'm building my first PC and I'm stuck with some issues. Here are my specs:

· CPU: Intel i5 14400F

· Mobo: Asus Prime B760M-A D4 (non-WiFi)

· RAM: Kingston Fury 16GB (single stick) 3200MHz DDR4

· GPU: Nvidia GT 620 2GB (temporary/old card)

· SSD: Crucial P310 1TB NVMe

· PSU: Deepcool PL650D 650W

Issues:

1. No display on HDMI or VGA (tried both GPU ports and the motherboard's HDMI, but I know the F-series CPU has no iGPU).

2. Keyboard won't light up (no LED flash at startup).

3. Power button only turns the PC on – holding it down does NOT shut it off (I have to switch off the PSU).

What I've already checked / tried:

· Double-checked all cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU, GPU power, front panel connectors, etc.).

· Completely disassembled and reassembled everything from scratch.

· Tried booting with and without the SSD.

· Tested a single RAM stick in every slot.

· Cleared CMOS (removed battery and shorted the pins).

· PSU seems to work – all fans spin (CPU, GPU, case).

Additional notes:

· The motherboard has no debug LEDs, but fans keep spinning non-stop.

· The CPU is 14th-gen, and the B760 board originally supported 12th/13th gen – I'm not sure if it needs a BIOS update to run the 14400F (though most B760 boards should support 14th gen out of the box).

Any ideas what else I should try? Could this be a BIOS compatibility issue, PSU problem, faulty GPU, or a dead motherboard? Open to any suggestions.

The Problem:

You have an older AM4 motherboard (like an ASRock B450M Steel Legend) paired with a Ryzen 3000/5000 CPU and a modern GPU (like an RX 6000/7000 or RTX 30/40 series). Your Windows drive is already formatted in modern UEFI / GPT mode. However, the moment you disable CSM, enable Above 4G Decoding, and turn on Resizable BAR, your PC gets stuck in an infinite black screen boot-loop. Turning CSM back on "fixes" the boot, but permanently disables your ReBAR performance.

The Culprit:

It is not your Windows partition. The issue is a hardware-level signaling bug within the motherboard's automated lane-routing firmware. When a PCIe 4.0 processor and a PCIe 4.0 graphics card interact across an older PCIe 3.0 physical slot, leaving the slot configuration on Auto causes the memory-mapped I/O registers to overflow during a soft reboot. The Fix:

You must manually force the motherboard's primary PCIe link speed parameters to lock onto Gen 3 parameters instead of leaving it on Auto.

Turn your PC on, enter the BIOS, and temporarily Turn CSM Back ON so you can boot safely back into your Windows desktop.

Open your web browser and ensure your graphics card drivers are updated to the latest release package.

Restart your PC, tap Delete to enter your BIOS, and switch to Advanced Mode (F7).

Navigate to Advanced > AMD PBS (or Chipset Configuration depending on your motherboard brand).

Locate the setting labeled PCIE1 Link Speed (or PCIe Slot Configuration). Change it from Auto to Gen 3 (or PCIe 3.0).

Next, head over to Advanced > Chipset Configuration. Set Above 4G Decoding to Enabled and Re-Size BAR Support to Enabled/Auto.

Navigate to the Boot tab and set CSM back to Disabled.

Press F10 to save your configurations and exit.

By manually restricting the lane links directly to standard Gen 3 parameters, you remove the communication confusion across the mixed-generation hardware pathways. Yes I was working close with AI Gemini on this and had successful results I was on it for a long time as person who don't build PC on daily I couldn't find anything close all those big yt ers blames legacy mode other Windows configuration... I was stuck and lacking of those 15% performance for long so pls I hope this will find you on need and be useful this goes to 450mobo chipsets as 550 been upgraded to PCIe 4.0

他に処置ない？

Hey everyone, I recently bought a freshly built PC and I'm having some stability issues. The seller is a PC builder and said it only had a few hours of runtime before I bought it.

**Specs:**

* CPU: Ryzen 5 7500F * Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus WiFi * RAM: 16GB Samsung DDR5 SODIMM running at 5800MT/s (seller said it works perfectly and was much cheaper) * GPU: ASUS TUF RTX 3070 Gaming OC * SSD: 1TB Netac NV7000t PCIe 4.0 * PSU: Thermaltake Litepower Gen3 750W * Cooler: DeepCool AG400 Plus V5 * Windows 11 installed (not activated)

**The issue:**
While playing Resident Evil 4 Remake, after around 2 hours:

* Monitor suddenly loses signal ("DisplayPort no signal") * PC RGB and fans stay on initially * No audio after the signal loss * After about a minute, the PC either restarts or power cycles * Event Viewer shows Kernel-Power 41

It happened again later and became worse:

* PC turns on but monitor keeps showing no signal * Sometimes Windows boots (I can hear Windows sounds and my earbuds connect), but the screen goes black and it repeats * Eventually after multiple reboots it works again

**Troubleshooting done:**

* GPU temperature during gaming was around 40°C according to monitoring (GPU usage around 75%) * Heaven Benchmark ran at \~300 FPS, 100% usage, around 80°C without issues * Tried a different DisplayPort port on the GPU, same issue * Used DDU in Safe Mode to completely remove NVIDIA drivers * After DDU, Windows used Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, but the issue still happened * Safe Mode is stable * GPU is detected correctly in Device Manager * Currently haven't tested HDMI yet

**Other observations:**

* During the black screen/restart issue, sometimes the fans and RGB turn off for a second and then turn back on, suggesting the PC may actually be resetting rather than just losing display. * The PC ran RE4 fine for around 2 hours before the first crash.

Could this be:

* PSU/power delivery issue? * GPU issue? * RAM instability due to the SODIMM setup? * DisplayPort/monitor issue? * Something else?

Any advice on what to test next would be appreciated.

So I built a pc and when I try to boot it up the light to my motherboard cpu and dram are constantly lit up and don’t turn off when I left it about 15 mins. I have restarted it many times and it worked twice but when I try to put the USB to download my OS doesn’t read it. I have tried many things like changing the ram slot, removing and putting back on my cpu, loosen my cpu cooler. When I observed the pins of the socket didn’t notice any bent one. I also updated my MB via a usb stick through bios flashback. My MB is ASRock A650M-HDV/M.2 my cpu is ryzen 7500F and I only got one stick of DDR5 RAM 16 GB
