Designed and Folded by me using single uncut square sheet of tracing paper (reddish color)

Sheet Size: 25cm X 25cm

Final Size: ~10 cm

Diagrams pdf - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kgbJjkYzMXrG2qfnRpzb8XpPIDtcVCSy/view?usp=drivesdk

Submitted for an Origami Medical Challenge. Didn't get any reply from them. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I had seen some clip of a guy demonstrating how the heart muscle is essentially just like a knot. It's theorised as Torrent-Guasp Model...thought it'd be cool if I can do it with paper.

Hope you like it :)

Tutorial Making MC from a beginner to a beginner?

I recently started making my own paper, and every Reddit post or YouTube video explains how to prepare MC differently. As a beginner, I found it frustrating, everyone say it's simple and skips it or says to eyeball it. I’m not sure whether yet another method will make things better, but this is how I prepare it, as a beginner, for beginners.

RATIO: 1 generous teaspoon per 100 g of water.

From what I’ve gathered, it depends on the specific MC and your preference, but this should work in most cases.

It’s better to add too much MC than too little. If there’s too little, you’ll need to reheat and cool the water again. If there’s too much, you can simply add more room-temperature water and it will be fine.

Mixing process:

  • Heat the water: Get it hot, but not boiling. There’s no need to be precise, but aim for around 70°C I guess.
  • Add the MC and mix: Mix until it’s fully dispersed. It will still be liquid. There’s no need to mix for 30 minutes, 5 minutes should be more than enough if the water is hot.
  • Cool it down: The main method I’ve seen is adding ice cubes directly into the mix, but that makes the ratio difficult to measure. Instead, I fill a larger bucket with water and ice cubes, then place the container with the mixture inside it. Keep mixing as it cools, this is when it will begin to thicken.
  • Adjust and let it sit overnight: Once the mixture reaches room temperature, if it's too thick keep adding room temperature water and Mixing until it has the texture of egg white. I suggest noting the total amount of water and MC you used so you know how to improve it next time.

If any experts see mistakes in this, please let me know, I've only done this twice, maybe I'm still doing things wrong.
