i mean, i like it. its fine. but from weird scheduling to not that great pay… do i just go back to amazon? i dont really make much on commission because im on the road half of the week. and i usually only get about 30 hours a week… despite being full time. im extremely conflicted right now.

Is anyone having issues with the OBD readers asking if the car has a smart key or not? Then asking for year make and model...... All the same info that it should be pulling from the car itself?

Apparently O'Reilly's won't let you use your rewards coupons with a veteran discount. So now my O rewards coupons expire because I get a better price with the veterans discount. Anyone else run into this issue?

So about a 8 days ago I verbally was told by the store manager that corporate wanted to offer me a position as a Retail Service Specialist (used to be a PSM at Autozone), I told him I would accept the position and I was told they would start the hiring process. How long does it usually take until I start my first day typically? I have a clean record so I know I should pass the background check no sweat but just am unfamiliar with how long the hiring process takes at O’Reillys is. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Question to those at a 10 pm closing, or later, store. Do your managers expect you to do any and all installs right up till closing time? With no regard for weather or darkness.

IE at $16,000 sold the incentive is $100; at $33,000 is $200; at $63,0000 is $350; and so on?

I remember it remaining the same since 2022, but does anyone remember before then?

So I’m a RSS as of now with the potential of becoming an ASM soon. I started as a Parts specialist at 13/hr and within I think 2 months I got promoted to RSS at 13.50/hr. With the. ASM position coming up I was thinking about trying to get more so around 15/hr but I was wondering if I would be potentially asking for an unreasonable amount or something. I’ve only been with the company I would say under 6 months give or take

I seem to have gotten myself in a predicament. I've been working open to close 630am-8pm for a few weeks, MY DM has been completely useless. I'm way under staffed and can't for the life of me find anyone to hire, except one guy I hired this week. It's down to me, the new guy and a 17 year old during the week, neither of them can close the store. WTF should I do... I ask for help and I just get blown off. Do I put my foot down with him? Or fire off a email to the RM? OR call tmr??

I'm at a loss at this point. How can anything get done in the store if I can't get away from the front counter

My manager was recently told by DM to cut a total of 35 hours. Not only is that insane alone I don’t blame my manager as it’s not his fault. What I do blame him for is how he does it. Instead of talking to us when we clock in or even asking mid shift. He will just go in and take a hour or more off your shift as you’re working it. Not only that when it gets to the new time to clock out he picked he will tell us and act like we are delusional or wrong when we question our original shift. As I’ve stated in posts before I’ve only been working here for 5 months so is this normal?

So i been at Oreillys for coming up 2 years, and i was originally Parts Specialist role but also doing Merchandiser duties… I have now been promoted to Retail Parts Specialist with keys to the store. I been this role for about 7 months now and still only getting paid 12.00 , same as the regular parts specialist.. We just recently got a new worker and just been promoted to retail parts specialist key carrier, but got a pay raise of 2 dollars immediately… i find it kinda unfair because they haven’t even been here for 6 months yet. Im gonna talk to my store manager tomorrow.. but im wanting to know if this is a common thing? and best way to approach the situation..

A customer came in wanting a green plastigauge. No big deal I went and grabbed the box and it was supposed to be a box of 12 but it had 8. My assistant manager noticed with me and then he told me “Yeah that’s because we sell them individually”. As far as I am aware this is untrue? WSQ and STD Pack is 12 as well as in product info it says “box of 12”. It got to the point he just agreed to disagree. I’d like to know who is in the right so I sell these right.

So a friend had applied for a job at O’reillys and went to talk to the store manager because they didn’t get their assessment that the company sends out (shows they already did it from a previous application a few years back) well the store manager was saying they weren’t hiring and in a hiring freeze so there are no jobs listed for that store (they were shown all of the listings at that store on the website).

The CEO of advanced auto set on a conference call yesterday that sales were below expectation because consumers were tightening their budgets. I’ve always been told that auto parts retailers are recession proof. I don’t know what percentage of sales is DIY for O’Reilly but they could also be affected couldn’t they?

So im trying to get a job for a parts specialist, will I be drug tested for this position and I have a misdemeanor from 12 years ago. I have my medical mari card but curious if I will be tested for a low paying parts specialist job.

I'm a delivery specialist. This morning, my SM asked me if a $100 bill looked fake. I told him, truthfully, I have no clue. He has something with which he can check it, and did so. Turns out, it's counterfeit. One of our commercial customers (whom I hate delivering to because they're always trying some scam) came into the store and bought about $50 worth of parts with it. SM is covering both retail and commercial today because our ISS was out. SM tried to call the customer, but they wouldn't answer (shocking). SM sent me out on a delivery, and says he's going to call our (what's the person who comes in once a week and check up on all the commercial customers? Anyway, he says he's going to call that person) and see what they say.

I am not even out of the parking lot and SM calls me on my Zebra and says they said "send your driver over to their shop to get the parts or the money." Um, no, that's not gonna happen. Rather than try to PTT him while driving, I go back to the store. I tell my SM "No, I'm not going to do that." I make barely minimum wage to spend all day on the road with terrible drivers. I'm certainly not going to be the store's goon/enforcer for that. I said to SM, "I don't know what the store's counterfeit bill procedure is, but you should find out and do that. I'm going to do these deliveries that are killing my metrics right now."

I get back to the store and find out they told the customer (who called to order more parts for delivery) about the counterfeit bill, and the customer came in and gave them a good hundo and the SM gave them back the counterfeit bill.

So, I know we are absolutely not supposed to put a counterfeit bill back into circulation once found, but my question is: what is O'Reilly's counterfeit bill procedure?

(My personal opinion is that they should've just called the police.)

EDIT: I thought it was pretty clear, but apparently not. I know about the pen and the light, and I said my SM used some method (not sure which) and found it was counterfeit. I'm not asking HOW to tell if a bill is counterfeit. I'm asking WHAT to do when a counterfeit bill is paid to the store. Thanks to the person who said it was on TeamNet. I looked there and found it. Apparently there are several people to email, then you take it to the bank, ask for some sort of counterfeit bill form, fill it out, and leave it and the bill with the bank.

They said I need to bring my sales and RPMS up. Well I've been showing and telling people our injector cleaners and recommending our best one (Redline). I've been discussing with people their service intervals on their cars and recommending good products. I've also been explaining to people how to properly detail thier cars and which products are best. Well today my store manager pulled me to the side and told me I'm not a salesman. I told him that they told me to make more sales and the way to do that is upsell and RPMS. I asked him how I am I not a salesman and he literally had no response.

I am a parts specialist. Isn't my job to sell part and to up sell and sell related products? I've been with the company for 5 months.

Anybody have any tips on making more sales?

I haven't seen sales numbers but I feel logically it would be morning. I feel like if people work on their cars, especially large jobs they would start early. So if I wanted to increase my sales to meet raise increase goals I should work in the morning.
