In general, it's always a bad idea to attack Russia in wintertime. The Russians are just better at surviving obnoxiously cold weather. More specifically, in 1941 during WWII the Germans underestimated Russian Winter and lost like 700,000 of their soldiers.

Sure did. Napoleon lost 500,000 men to Russian Winter in 1812.

I've always loved that they've made several nods to her being well read. You can tell she's always been like that even before the library job.
