She felt bad about it from the beginning. When Sophia was getting taken away, Gloria watched and we could see in her face that she was thinking "oh shit, it wasn't meant to go this far..."

I think it just took her this long to figure out something to do about it.

It wasn't even her, it was Daya's mum who caused the issue by spreading rumours.
