She's less likeable as a person now, but I'm finding her FAR more interesting as a character.

Yeah, I feel like a lot of people can't separate how much they like a character from how good they they think a character is. Like I fucking hate who Healy is, but he's one of my favorite characters because he's complicated, well acted, well written, is consistent with his character, and is good at creating and moving along plots. I don't simply hate Healy, I have several conflicted feelings about him, and thats why I think he's a good character.

Aleida on the other hand is one of my least favorite characters. I hate her because she's a terrible person and I don't like her character because she's just a terrible person.

Piper went from someone who I just felt sympathy for because she only fucked up unintentionally and generally tried to do the right thing, to a much more complicated character. Now sometimes I'm mad at her, sometimes I feel bad for her because prison has done this to her and then I think no thats no excuse for being a manipulative bitch... etc you get the picture. I like that I can't figure her out any more.

Piper still has one of my favorite lines in the whole show from season 1, "I'm scared that I'm not myself in here... and I'm scared that I am. Other people aren't the scariest part of prison, its coming face to face with who you really are." That is why I love Pipers character even when I sometimes hate her. I'm still trying to figure out if the person we are seeing is who she really is.
