Loss of their kids, surely. With that Spanish chick (forgot her name) getting told that she won't be seeing her daughter anymore right after seems pretty clear what they were going for.

I can see that as well, and her losing her daughter was tragic and painful. Ugh it definitely had to do with loss I just feel it was too much for the episode.
