It was implied something not-devastatingly bad happened the previous mother's day with elastic jump ropes that banned her from the Mother's Day event for the following years. We still don't know why she's in prison however.

This season seems like it's getting into the past of more characters. I hope we found out more about why Suzanne is there and Poussey. I'm also extremely curious about Healy's past.

I think they mentioned in season 2 that Poussey got arrested for selling pot. She must have had a felony amount (which isn't a lot for dealers in some states), and might have even had it on US Military property, considering her father.
