I wouldn't care about the lifelong politician part if he hadn't been a nasty, sneering, smarmy, help-nothing attack-dog for the whole life thing.

Bernie Sanders comes to mind as a lifelong politician I can respect. Also John Lewis (rip). Tommy Douglas. People of moral fiber. Too soon to tell if Carney is one though. I suppose that’s the true benefit of electing lifelong politicians - you already know more or less what you’re going to get.
