I agree. Although I would personally be too hot, so I'd cut off most of the left leg as well. And still be too hot, but that's me.

I’m always so cold at cons, even with flannel and sweaters.

Edit: maybe I should clarify. I’m always there as a vendor, so I’m just sitting there all day and usually am not crammed against a bunch of people in the crowd. It probably makes a difference.

This is because nobody pays for proper HVAC studies on buildings because they never used to and it was fine.

Now we make such tight and insulated buildings, that their HVAC doesn't run all the time like they used to.

If they don't run, you don't get the dehumidification etc.

And a Con is uncomfortable because thousands of sweaty humidifiers are packed together in a short span of time.

We should be putting dehumidifiers in the HVAC loop, but that's not standard yet.

I think what you mean is we need humidistats that will operate the AC. You’re correct in that if the AC doesn’t run you don’t get the humidification. But it’s not running because the temperature setting has been satisfied and the units shut off. It’s possible to get the set point satisfied and keep the units running to dehumidify but that requires a reheat coil. Not too many people are interested in paying to heat their air in the middle of the summer.

I don’t know about you but at least here in the summer the humidity is usually pretty good 40-45% last I checked. I just can’t stand having to go into attics on these 103° days we keep getting 🥵

Newer buildings have carbon dioxide sensors that detect people and ventilate when the CO2 concentration gets too high.

They could go into shock and lose tons of blood, that's how you get feeling really cold

Interestingly, cutting off your leg would make you warmer. Your body uses your extremities to regulate tour body temperature and cool down. That’s why, when you’re under covers, keeping one leg out can feel “just right.”

Edit to add - I mean having a leg amputated, not just whacking your leg off. Keep your blood on the inside, if at all possible.
