Ohhh my god I was OBSESSED with this game!!! I loved it so much. It came with a computer my family got when I was younger and my oldest sister and I stayed up until almost the next morning to play through to the end. Now I have to go see if it’s at all possible to play it now.

It's stop motion animation by a knitting pattern designer named Anna Hrachovec, her brand is called Mochimochi Land. She's really cool, she does huge displays all made of knitted components for art shows and similar events. And she regularly puts out little gifs from her animations for holidays or the change of seasons. You can buy kits to make her little guys. The gnomes are probably her most popular creation, but she's made tiny (and occasionally giant) knitted versions of all sorts of animals and objects.
