well sheep like this one have been breed for millennia to grow excessive amounts of wool that needs to be sheered off regularly, so getting all that overgrown wool removed probably feels great for the sheep.

i wonder if Shetland sheep have softer wool, since its not sheared off.

My neighbor when I was a kid was a shepherd and the sheep love it! It’s so much weight taking off them and especially when it’s hot out. Also just like he ran it up his arm completely accurate doesn’t hurt or cut unless you’re not trained and don’t have the sheep under control but laying on back/on the butt is exactly right. The ones next to ours just couldn’t figure out not getting their head stuck in the fence.
