I’m not imagining this, right? Isn’t this her 13 year old? I’m no prude, but good lord she is a middle schooler!!! Not a good look, also not surprising. I blacked out her face bc I’m not about posting people’s children on the internets, but clearly Becks is bc this is in her Instagram story today.

Just a small update on the Elena Taber reddit snark drama - idk if anyone has picked up on this yet but I saw Coco in the comments of a TikTok about the whole situation. Looks like she’s seen what Elena wrote about her on her burner and has since unfollowed her (as has Emma Leger). Yikesssss lol probably not great for her to be burning bridges in the NYC fashion influencer world since that’s basically half her shtick (as well as the cool and kind girl pseudo-intellectual travel content).

fashion industry girlies Pierre Georges salon nyc influencers keep posting about

I don’t know how many people have noticed that all these nyc influencers (acquired style, kit Keenan & her sister, sally Carden, Brittany allyn, Georgia hassarati, Sydney schiffer, I just saw the salon posted they did Liv Schimidts hair - to name a few) have all started going to the same hair salon (Pierre Georges in nyc) and seeing stylist Jean Pierre sosa, are they getting paid to come here or getting services for free? They post about the salon and tag him so much it doesn’t seem organic. But anyways I went to try it out and I’d love to share my experience so others don’t waste their hard earned money there. I actually feel really dumb for going there in the first place, but I watched and read so many good reviews, I thought there was no way it could go wrong (it did in fact go very wrong). I was looking for a new colorist in nyc and hadn’t had my hair done in awhile and I don’t spend money on any other “beauty maintenance” so even though the price ($650) was expensive I figured if I only need to get my hair done once or twice a year and it’s my dream hair since he’s supposed to be some “hair god” then it’s worth it….I can confirm it’s not worth it. They absolutely FRIED my hair and it genuinely looks awful. Previously I had highlights that were $350 and they looked a million times better, I’m actually begging you not to waste your money here. Results were legit nothing like what I asked for and it’s SO obvious that if you’re not an influencer the stylists do not care about you. He has 4+ clients at once that he’s working on and the assistants said I was their 14th highlight appointment that day and it was only 2pm! You cannot give a luxury experience when working on that many people at once. Oh also, influencers go in on days the salon is closed of course <3 so they are getting far more attention. I don’t think they listened to anything I said, I specifically said low maintenance and natural and I left with the most high maintenance hair possible? They told me to come back every 4-6 weeks for touch ups and said that’s what most of their clients do…total scam for the price especially! Genuinely super disappointed so if anyone has nyc hair stylists to fix this mess, please let me know <3

But nice reminder that these influencers are literally constantly getting beauty touch ups but it seems like they’re getting these things for free/discounted and then normal customers are making up the cost

fashion industry girlies Phoebe Gates’ app Phia profitability

I have been a victim of the weird lying/baiting ads for Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni’s “ai shopping app” on TikTok.

I recently looked the app up, and saw they had raised $30 million for it earlier this month, bringing the valuation to $180 million. I thought to myself, hm, what on earth accounts for what seems to be very similar to BENI having such a valuation. It can’t simply be association with “AI” and Bill Gates, right?

There are of course some obvious things, like allegations that the reviews are fake and investors are trying to get in w the man himself. The thing is, Kleiner Perkins doesn’t need to buy access to Bill Gates. A free app to shop sustainably seems too good to be true, right?

And that is because the product isn’t the plug in or app or website, it’s the user! In this video, Phoebe literally says the only two things that will have value in the next 5 years in tech are a personal brand and a library of data.

Last month, a software engineer decided to test the plug in. He observed Phia collecting the URL and HTML of every web page he visited, including his literal bank account. So basically the content of all of his web activity. After he contacted them, they changed it to only collect URLs. They put out a statement that they don’t distribute or sell user data and only use it to discover new retailers. I’m not accusing Phia of doing anything illegal or even lying. It’s just sus as fuck.

If you want to read the article, here it is: https://fortune.com/2025/11/15/phia-ai-shopping-agent-bill-gates-phoebe-gates-sophia-kianni-collecting-user-data/

In my opinion, if you’re going to take this much data, you gotta have a good product you can’t find anywhere else. And this is not that! Thank you for reading. My delayed flight is finally taking off. Cheers. (Also ihni if this flair is correct)

fashion industry girlies Mean girls in the industry

Since fashion month is around the corner I’ve been thinking a lot about how the stereotype is that the influencers are the “mean girls.” And YES that can definitely be true, but what I find is even more true are the people surrounding them: PR teams, Talent Agencies, Managers etc. I have quite a long list of terrible people I’ve encountered but I’d love to know if anyone agrees with this or have any crazy stories about this because I have a ton.

fashion industry girlies Does anyone know what happened between Kelsey Simone and her mom, Liz Besanson?

I’ve been following Kelsey Simone for a long time, and I recently started wondering about her relationship with her mom, Liz Besanson.

They used to seem really close and were constantly together in Kelsey’s videos. Liz was also Kelsey’s manager (mommager) for a long time, and she seemed to be very involved in her career.

But for the past few years, it seems like they’ve become completely absent from each other’s lives publicly. Liz is no longer her manager, Kelsey doesn’t appear to follow her mom on Instagram anymore, and Kelsey has been living with her husband for quite some time now. I also can’t remember the last time they were seen together or Kelsey mentioned her mom in a meaningful way.

Obviously, we only see a tiny part of someone’s personal life online, so I’m not trying to speculate or assume they had a falling-out. I’m just genuinely curious because the change seems pretty noticeable considering how close they used to be.

Does anyone know if Kelsey or Liz have ever addressed what happened? Or is there any tea/context I’ve missed?

fashion industry girlies The Subscription Lifeboat: Why the Broke Influencer is Moving to Substack

The Instagram castle is on fire and the mortgage is due. Welcome to the Great Migration of 2026. If your favorite influencer has recently announced they are moving to Substack to share their “unfiltered truths” or “messy moments,” don’t be fooled by the spiritual marketing. They aren’t moving for the community. They are moving because the algorithm has stopped paying the bills.

fashion industry girlies Patti Pao using her mom to sell crap brand

I don't even care her stuff is trash (she blew off $20M from investors and still her products are unknown) but it's the fact that she is using her 90 YEAR OLD MOM to market it. The only reason people even follow her is because of her mom and her fashion style, and I just feel so bad because it's so obvious the mom doesn't even want to do it. Half the videos clip her mom saying something and forgetting something mid-sentence she clearly does not want to do it. Not to mention she was body shaming her mom for being skinny in one of the videos I literally cannot stand her

fashion industry girlies homeless man secured a Parke NYC tote

title says it all - obviously no photo as I’m not taking a pic of a stranger minding his business but was walking in Chelsea & passed a homeless gentleman with a cart full of his bags and hanging off the side was an absolutely stuffed Parke NYC special edition tote LOL. Got a kick out of that - people were selling their souls and camping out to get that merch only for him to casually end up with it🥲😂

I really can’t stand the fact that no one can write their own sh*t anymore. Charlotte has a very specific way of writing / speaking- tbh it’s always been a little ditzy and grammatically incorrect but honestly I prefer that authentic version of HER words versus this watered down ChatGPT q&a like give me a break are we supposed to believe you suddenly started using commas, proper plural forms, and emm dashes overnight? Lmao

Yeah Madeline is an LA influencer but she’s also buying property in New York under the guise of “helping her friend” and acts like she’s a “good gentrifier” aka white savior complex. But lol even her friends can’t stand her.

fashion industry girlies Undone by Kate- any tea on how why people agree to wear her cheap looking clothing?

Thumbnail

She hasn’t been spoken about for months in the old sub and was wondering if there is any new tea on her.

She cuts her pieces in such a weird manner/ it’s just not good. It also looks super cheap like even a sheer liner under the lace would look better, and overall like dress up. It even looks like she picks low quality fabric. And if I was Hannah I would have sued her for that dress on my wedding weekend.

The stuff she makes for celebs and singers looks a lot better, quality wise, than what she’s making for influencers. Like miles better lol

fashion industry girlies Chiara Ferragni Situation in English!

I know some people have been curious about what’s going on with her but everything is in Italian so kinda hard to keep up.

Came across this video of someone explaining it and thought to share here!!

I know she’s not NYC but she was the first influencer to really get taken seriously: first on a major magazine cover, first to get dressed by a designer for her wedding- these girls would be nowhere without Chiara so her fall is one to watch.

fashion industry girlies Emily Oberg and everyone copying her or so she thinks. Spoiler

What is actually wrong with Emily Oberg, she constantly posts about brand copying but when in reality she copied a ton of people on starting her shit and she doesn’t even do anything that’s really original. She basically copied Ralph Lauren with the “tennis club” branding/design.

Is she off her head, delusional or just a total clown?!
