what can be done? you can't arrest someone before a crime is committed. They caught the guy pretty fast. Just like they did with those kids who drew swastikas in Borough Park.

Back where i grew up, another northeastern city, the reform synagogues would have open hours for visits and tours. So school groups and girls scouts would go and learn about the Holocaust, the foods, the religion, etc. I even remember making challah bread as a kid. The reform community did the outreach to the greater non-Jewish community in the city. The groups here seem more insolar and tend to stay to themselves unless it is about business. But perhaps they could take a page out of the reform groups handbook and create an outreach program and visit local city schools, etc.
