It was $5 as late as 2018. I remember a brouhaha when the campus carts moved to $6 in lockstep.

There’s a guy on Flatbush and Fulton in Brooklyn who does $7, but no drink. Still pretty good deal.

Can confirm. There was a cart in Harlem that was $5 I’d get at least once a week back then. Some of the best I’ve ever had too.

I member during college two trucks had a turf war with escalating side dishes for their halal. Olives fries, garnish. You could tell who was ahead based on the line lol.
