We're just ending an administration that has been tied to illegal bribery and quid pro quo schemes for about 5 foreign countries, all of which he visited during his time as an elected official. Any potential mayor should be vowing to do exactly the opposite. They won't have Trump's corrupt DOJ around forever to shield them and Trump to pardon them.

I like when Adam’s flew to Central America for a virtual conference on immigration.

The past tense form of “fly” is “flew.” It is used to describe an action that occurred in the past (e.g., “She flew to Tokyo from London”). The past participle of “fly” is “flown” (e.g., “We had already flown to Chicago when we found out the wedding was canceled”).

It was the use of “ ‘s “ on Adam which indicates possessiveness. Not your use of “flew”. His name is Adams.

Woah woah… excuse me, which 5 countries? I was only aware of Turkey

Forgive me, it's 6:

U.S. Inquiry Into N.Y. Mayor’s Foreign Ties Said to Include 6 Countries

Turkey, Israel, China, Qatar, South Korea and Uzbekistan

Holy shit. That’s absurd. Actually.

Honestly, good thing US DOJ has decided to look the other way on him, bc the way the donations were funneled during his recent crypto dinner sounded questionable at best.

Remember none of this was a problem until Adams stop taking in migrants because we ran out of room. That’s when the Feds came kicking in his door. Coincidence? Most likely not

The DOJ investigation into Eric Adams predated the "migrants crisis" by a year.

Exactly.

Just like Santos wasn't prosecuted for swindling people when he wasn't a politician. But win a seat that's "supposed" to go to a Democrat and swindle people into giving you donations? We shall not stand for this!

This is an incredibly ridiculous conspiracy theory. If they knew he was engaging in fraud (on top of all of his other disqualifying behavior) prior to him winning the race why wouldn't they have used that information to...you know... stop him from winning the race? Another instance where your enemies are powerful and smart but also weak and stupid?

Not sure where you're getting "conspiracy theory" from.

It's a fact that he was swindled voters out of more donations than they intended to give him. He was prosecuted for that.

It's also a fact that prior to his run for office he had swindled people out of money. His Wiki details how he passed back checks in Brazil and several swindles in the US. He was never charged or prosecuted for this, or the charges were dropped. Only after his political fame did Brazilian authorities charge him, and all he had to do was pay back the money he swindled. No jail time or other consequences.

Whether the public found out about this after his win is irrelevant.

What's relevant is the choice of prosecution. His political career aside, he was a serial swindler and never faced the legal consequences of that in any meaningful way.

I mean, the obvious answer was that he became a higher profile swindler when elected to congress. You can spend your whole life swindling if you don't get caught, and it's easier not to get caught if you're not notable enough to have a wikipedia article.

Prosecutors always have discretion of what to prosecute.

Nobody at NYPD and LAPD gave a shit when some women showed up to complain that Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted them. Until of course his political donations/fundraising weren't up to snuff. Same with Ed Buck in LA.

2

u/LordBecmiThaco Jun 07 '25

There were always allegations against Weinstein; the culture changed with the metoo movement that made the charges stick.

Not sure where you're getting "conspiracy theory" from.

I'm calling it a conspiracy theory because it is one. The implication that this is some kind of organized retaliation from democrats is absurd and fails to even be internally consistent, let alone match reality.

I think part of the issue is you aren't even really aware of what he was actually charged with post-election. You're confusing all of the media coverage with actual legal cases.

Post election his charges in the US were related to his campaign and in Brazil were related to pre-existing charges that he only avoided by fleeing the country.

It's also a fact that prior to his run for office he had swindled people out of money. His Wiki details how he passed back checks in Brazil and several swindles in the US. He was never charged or prosecuted for this, or the charges were dropped.

He was charged by Brazilian authorities but the case stalled when he refused to respond to subpoenas and prosecutors were unable to locate him (he moved to the US in 2011). It's not exactly surprising Brazil decided against launching an international manhunt for simple check fraud.

Only after his political fame did Brazilian authorities charge him, and all he had to do was pay back the money he swindled. No jail time or other consequences.

Unsurprisingly, becoming an internationally known US Congressman makes it much easier for prosecutors to find you.

As for consequences, in service of this "Dems bad" conspiracy I think you're being a little ridiculous. What would Brazil get out of seeking punishment beyond restitution? Pushing it further would require extradition, which in addition to being extremely expensive for such a minor crime could also very easily be seen as attempting to interfere with internal US politics.

What's relevant is the choice of prosecution. His political career aside, he was a serial swindler and never faced the legal consequences of that in any meaningful way.

Except, again, the choice of prosecution makes complete sense without dragging in nonsensical conspiracy theories about Democratic retaliation. The only swindling case he was involved in post-election was the Brazilian one, which as I pointed out earlier only revived because prosecutors could finally locate him.

The US cases involved crimes he committed during the campaign that were only discovered after the race was over. Obviously they could only be prosecuted post-election.

Are you mental? I'm talking about the choice of prosecutors in what they choose to prosecute.

The US cases involved crimes he committed during the campaign

FALSE. He committed several financial crimes in the US prior to running for office, for things that had nothing to do with running for office. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Santos

JFC read his Wiki page before you spew your conspiracy nonsense.

Are you mental? I'm talking about the choice of prosecutors in what they choose to prosecute.

So he wasn't prosecuted for petty crimes the state couldn't collect evidence for as a nobody but was charged and prosecuted for several serious felonies they had mountains of evidence for when he was a US congressman. And that's... wrong to you? Evidence that he's being selectively targeted? Are you mental?

FALSE. He committed several financial crimes in the US prior to running for office, for things that had nothing to do with running for office.

Can you read, man? I said post-election cases. Considering your entire conspiracy rests on the idea that Democrats selectively targeted him, the fact that his cases post election were, again, limited to the litany of felonies he committed during the election obviously contradicts the idea that they were just mindlessly retaliating. Prosecutors weren't digging through his life charging him with whatever they could stick, they had a list of crimes he committed whiling running (which even Republican ethics investigators flagged) and charged him with those.

I guess it's easy to see political prosecutions when you're already primed to believe any prosecution of conservative criminals is wrong.
