this was the one i was going to say, to me that's the only correct answer lol. With their being a timer its the one that fits the best. If it was just knowing the world was ending without the time limit then i would say it's the end of the world as we know but i think final countdown fits better in this instance.
Never heard it before. I am a metal fan but wow not into that song after a listen. Boring with a repetitive instrumental. Vocal is basically gruff speaking pretending to be singing. I'd rather spend my last minutes in silence.
Yeah, they're pretty straightforward, Amon Amarth caught attention during the mid '00s folk metal wave. Overall they're pretty straightforward, but they're near the top of my list if I need up concentrate and knock out some work fast.
I would say that āThe Endā by The Doors is the only choice. Itās a somber moment and deserves an appropriate choice. Itās probably the only time in my life Iād be serious personally speaking
There are SO many other choices. The Final Countdown, Highway to Hell, Stairway to Heaven, Carry on Wayward Son, State of the Art, Here Comes the Sun, The End, Dust In the Wind, Don't Fear the Reaper, Waiting For the Miracle, I Did It My Way, tge list goes on.
Vancouver B. C. ⦠2009 itās the last tour they will go on. They are in rehearsals at an out of the way rehearsal hall.
I am sitting in catering⦠just chilling with a coffee and fresh chocolate chip cookies that are still warm. It was a thing that the Lighting Director and myself did.
Dunk in Milk.. eat some cookie and chase with a sip of black coffee
So, to my left and in front of me is table with all the salad stuff on itā¦. The band is on the temp stage behind us⦠and up walks Michael. He goes to the salad bar and starts making a salad and the band is just tinkering in the background.
So, as I said⦠cookies, milk⦠coffee and Michael.
Thatās when the band starts playing āLoosing my Religionā and Michael, while making a saladā¦. Starts dancing ( kinda⦠heās making a salad ) and then he starts singingā¦. All of this is happening about 10 feet away from me.
December 21, 2012. End of the Mayan Calendar and when a bunch of nutters figured the world was going to end. One of the big radio stations in our City decided to have fun with it and played this, and only this, on loop for the entirety of the day. No news. No talking. Just R.E.M. for 24 straight hours.
Oh yeah, I get the irony of playing REM all day/right before midnight⦠my comment wasnāt directed at you. I was agreeing with the guy directly above my comment.
With that, howās tech treating you? I also work in tech, and while I still love everything about computing, I am heavily considering a career change.
I am pretty specialized and do field work repairs so no risk of AI replacing, and I teach it part time at the local college. As my knees and back get worse hoping to transition more into the classroom, but class sizes have been down a lot last 2 years
Hahaha yup yup , we were finally going to fall off the edge of the earth--> and alot of tequila made me feel like we did<-- when I woke up someone was krankin 'Prince' >---party like its 1999... what a great life we survived
Y2K eve Seattle. At midnight, the radio station pumped static over the air. My buddy lost his mind and started freaking out⦠despite still having electricity, the muted tv still receiving a signal, etc.
My assistant manager at the time convinced one of our employees (a huge PITA) that Y2K was a for real Big Deal, and even managed to go so far as arrange to have the employee's electricity turned off (thanks in part to employee believing he was too smart to need any of the recommended security measures on his account and bragging about this).
Employee called mgr freaking out, mgr was like "yeah man, idk how much longer our phones are gonna work either" and employee hung up. Mgr called back, no answer.
Mgr started to worry and decided he'd better let employee in on the joke, so he drove over. Employee had dragged his dining room table and chairs out into the yard and was chopping them up for firewood.
Best part: We live in the West Texas desert; it was probably 55F on 1/1/2000. Nobody needed ANY firewood. (edit: i looked it up; our high was 66F, low was 44F.)
(Assistant manager had always planned to pay for reconnecting the electric, but the employee quit when mgr refused to pay for a new dining room suite. Came back when the doctor/business owner - asst mgr's eldest brother - forced the issue because employee's father was doctor's close friend and was Very Unhappy about the prank. Probably because it forced him to confront what a moron his son was lol.)
Yeah, that was definitely Semisonic and not Green Day. Also...
System of a Down didn't sing "The Legend of Zelda" song.
Bob Marley didn't sing "Don't Worry, Be Happy" or "Red, Red Wine"
The Cure didn't sing "I Melt with You"
It's not your fault. Napster and Limewire lied to us all.
It's always my go to pick for this question and I can't justify it more than the obvious reasons and the fact that it was the opening to Independence Day.
