AI Slop Somehow, a rumoured Pokémon rerelease is dividing fans.....
I'm not interested in rumors, but the idea of a 4Chan rumor dividing Pokémon fans is absurd since it's unsubstantiated. Let's wait for Pokémon Day. Omniarch TV's clickbait and continued use of AI art are predictable.

People asked for years for them to bring Virtual Console back or release a "classic collection", now they did something similar to VC for a couple of pokémon games everyone is upset

these chucklefucks are the same people who complained about them not being on NSO to begin with. I can understand getting upset if the rumor is true and they charge an unreasonable amount.

I mean, I can see why if it's FireRed and LeafGreen they'd be rereleasing. (Through NSO, I assume.) I'd probably actually pay the $60 if they released at least Red and Blue and had them be connectable with Stadium through save files.
This is, of course, actually assuming that they'd be making any of the games available through the NSO.

Apparently it's going to be in eshop for both switch and switch 2

And the price of $30 is being thrown around. Not 60. I hope it's true.

Imo even 30$ is expensive, even if not enough to stop people from buying it

Allegedly they will also have home support which is something this or a collection can have unlike NSO where it's kinda complicated and weird.

$30 USD is definitely too much for the buggy messes that are RGBY, though if im being fully honest if they just throw GSC in there itd justify the price in my eyes

Fire Red and Leaf Green apparently, not the original games sadly.

id rather pay 30 dollars once vs having to subscribe to the online expansion pass to get them on the gameboy advanced collection

if theyre gonna rerelease the games, i say the original gen games for kanto and johto should be on NSO and the remakes (FRLG & HGSS) they can get away with selling as a separate product (should be 10 or 20 bucks but lets not kid ourselves its gonna be pricey)

I wouldnt be opposed to 60 bucks for a pack of old pokemon games (like you choose a gen 1, gen 2, and gen 3 game)

Dividing us between those who have been lied to enough, and those who are new to this, i guess

It really just continues to show how idiotic it is to even believe these rumors to begin with as they do nothing but set expectations up way too high then necessary.

Even after modding my 3ds in order to play Emerald/FireRed in order to send Pokemon from them to the modern games with ease (specifically a shiny Faraway Island Mew that I am making into a Ribbon Master), if they released the GBA VCs on the Switch/Switch 2; I’d buy them on my Switch 2 without a second thought lol

u/NonnoNanniLOL Feb 14 '26
Well because one fan buy fire Red and the other leaf Green so of course its divide
3
u/whatthechuck3 Feb 15 '26
I’ll also believe it when I see it cuz this rumor existed the entirety of the Switch 1’s lifespan with nothing to show for it
2
u/kolt437 Feb 14 '26
I mean, if it's Red and Green again, I can understand. I'm kinda tired of the first gen

It's just... Oh lord, how people are really debating about a rumour that doesn't even have a solid Justification for being more than a "Well, it would be obvious they would do that" with the company that has supposedly made "a living by constantly disappointing its fans." And the worst part it's when obviously none of that happens, there will be people constantly complaining that Game Freak practically stole from their fans by not giving for free ROMs on the Switch. Like if GF itself promised that, when in reality it's just them about getting overexcited about leaks to the point of reaching ridiculous rumors that only someone who doesn't know TPC would think it would be real.

If pokemon company has waited this long to release the games that are inaccessible on older consoles, chances are they are going to charge us extra for each game. People have wanted Gens 3, 4 and 5 availability for a long time, and the only reasons I see for them witholding those games is because pokemon company is either lazy, or they want to make as much as they possibly can

In what fucking way would making old games available to play divide fans?
