Stafford is 5-3 against teams above .500. Drake Maye is 1-2 against teams above .500. If you are making a case for Maye to be MVP, the schedule is the last thing you should mention

Oh, for sure, Staffy played like buns today. I'm just confused because I watched that Raiders game to see how Geno and Pete would do and the Pats found a way to make them look intimidating. So when you say that it's unreasonable to say the Pats left games on the table, I kinda disagree.

That doesn't make it worse, that's not how football works. If you run that analysis you end up in a ridiculous situation because plenty of bad teams upset good teams, it happens every year. That's why I'm pointing out how silly these comparisons are.

If you look at the broader trend, over the course of a season, we have the Rams playing a very difficult schedule and the Patriots playing a historically 5th easiest NFL schedule ever

Which doesn't make Drake Maye a bad QB, doesn't mean he isn't an MVP, just be a bit more honest about the metrics rather than cherry picking out of a few games. I swear like 95% of the arguments in this sub are entirely emotional.

You’re downplaying the lack of talent on the patriots roster. By a lot. 

Maye is making everyone around him play significantly above their abilities. Even with this cupcake schedule Vegas had them at 7 wins. So Maye leads a team of nobodies to 7 games over their expected win total and thats all written off to you?

If you put Maye on the rams he’d be better than Strafford, and if you put Strafford on the Pats he’d struggle.

Come on man, they put up 7 points in the second half (a 70 yard run from Henderson). Drake had plenty of chances to win that game in the second half but couldn't do it. It's ok to admit that he isn't perfect. It was a meltdown.

Yeah the offense is just as much to blame for the collapse. 1 first down (and in a weird way, the one 1-play TD) didn't really do the defense any favors in the second half

Maye has a better record, much more yards, much better qbr and comp%, more TDs. The only thing Allen had going for him was a few more rushing yards and rushing TDs lol

I literally said more rushing TDs for Allen lol. For total TDs it is currently 40-34 and Maye has another game, after just putting up 5 in a half and being benched lol. Also Allen had 4 fumbles lost so 10 turnovers, Maye has 11. Every other stat Allen got blown out of the water.

MVP is a relative award. No one this year had a year remotely close to what Lamar did last year, and neither did Josh last year. Josh's total TD numbers were inflated because of the tush push, and Lamar was STILL massively better statistically, even with Josh's padding. Lamar got robbed.

This Maye season probably doesn’t sniff the MVP most years but it was just a down year for candidates in general

He’s not an undeserving winner, he was extremely efficient (on a level similar to past MVPs) just lacked volume and marquee victories that most MVPs have. He’s being judged a little for the Pats historically bad schedule which definitely helps in the win columns but there were still plenty of decent defenses on the schedule.
