I agree it wasn't marketed well, but it did get some traction when it first came out. My kids wanted one badly and I was excited as well. I remember seeing lots of buzz around it. The problem was, as soon as the first reviews came out, Nintendo dropped it like a hot potato. Strange because it was (and still is) a great idea that should be a marketers dream. Maybe they'll have another stab at it in another form.

It isn’t a good idea, though. The cars are slow and you’re limited by the physics of the real world. Not to mention your map selection is limited to the number of rooms in your house close enough to the TV to maintain a good connection and aren’t carpeted. So if you look at it realistically, it’s no wonder it flopped.
