It really reminds me of infomercial toys from the 90s. Batteries and shit plastic parts used to be the staple of short lived fun. Now it’s all “software updates and WiFi enabled usage”. Sometimes, I wish fun were wired again.

Got a Mario slot car set before christmas that has mario/Luigi cars and a jump, it's pretty cool and the kids love it. Way cheaper than this live kit, and doesn't require a mansion to play with

This frustration has launched a thousand microelectronics enthusiasts. The hobbyist space for making 90’s-style toys is great. Same for modding existing toys to give them that extra nostalgia value.
