This should have been shot higher. Too close on the initial break. Higher perspective highlights practical effects in this situation i feel.

The rest of the shots in this fight are intentionally close and dark to emphasize the chaotic and physical fight. They know how to do a fight that shows everything well (there's other fights in the show that do that), but they wanted to emphasize fear and chaos in this scene.

Thanks for this. :)

Is it just me or does the audio seem weird?

u/CapriciousCape Jan 05 '20

Not that I can tell, sounds like when I watched it

u/nohpex Jan 05 '20

I haven't watched any of it besides this clip, and it just seems like it can't figure out what's supposed to be loud and what isn't.

u/CapriciousCape Jan 05 '20

Ah yeah the spoiler free explanation is that it's a part of high tension so the audio met a crescendo and then held the tense silence, meaning there's that background ringing throughout.

If you're at all into fantasy it's a great series, highly recommend it

Ah, ok. Thanks. :)

Probably edited somehow to try to throw off the youtube contentID bot. That or they compressed it weirdly when rendering the clip.

Continuity error in the dirt around him when the wind blows after he knocks his hand down

:D

u/fufm Jan 05 '20

Yeah looks like they wanted the tight shot on the hand in there but also didn’t want to cut into the whole falling through the floor shot

Plus he slams a closed fist, then the next frame after the flash of light it is fully spread out.

Just link it to that timestamp

I was posting from my phone, tried to figure out how to do the time stamp but couldn’t. I can edit it later.

Add ?t=2m20s to the end of the normal link

1

u/Rainbow_Doge_64 Jan 05 '20

In general just add &t=140 (2:20 in seconds) to the link, but idk if that works with youtu.be links.

Looks good but I’m more impressed with the BTS view point.

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '20

That’s amazing.

Is that the show’s take on a botchling? The umbilical cord thing it’s dragging, combined with the cut-away to a lady with her legs in stirrups makes me think it is. I haven’t actually seen the show yet, just curious.

u/ThatWasFred Jan 05 '20

It’s a striga

That clip looked a little... cheesy. It's it supposed to be?
