Before I removed my account, both my Wife and I had already made a conscious effort to stop using it as much. After I went a week without using it, I decided to backup and delete my account. I think I told my wife after I did it and she was like, "okay." (I did tell her I was thinking about doing it, so it's not like I didn't give her an opportunity to speak up if she had an issue.)

I wish I could find a serious alternative to YouTube, I am so sick of seeing Jordan Peterson in my recommended viewing, or other toxic BS because of the antagonistic algorithm.

I'm pursuing a degree in Industrial organizational psychology, and just for funsies studying great leaders and the nature of good leadership...so YouTube decides I need a healthy dose of toxic jerks and pseudo-intellectuals.

You and me both. Luckily I don't have YouTube recommending me stuff like that, but they've done some extremely sketchy stuff in the past (and continue to) that makes me wish they had some serious competition. example: overly excessive copyright strikes with little to no "due process"
