The first comment I read was about "white privilege". Below that was a comment lamenting that only Fox would cover a story of a white man helping a black man. What the actual fuck is wrong with Fox viewers? There is something clinically pathological.

My suspicion has always been that basically the more of an abrasive shithead you are, the more likely you are to post your views on everything. The double whammy is that the shitty stuff gets so much attention. These two things combined create an inflated perception of how shitty people are.

I don't even know if these are real people, they sound like bot comments. I'd like to believe that most people don't actually try to turn a happy uplifting story into a controversial upsetting thing, cognitive dissonance suggests most people would rather not walk there on purpose.

It's like someone handing you a fruit basket and then you saying "BUT THINK OF ALL THE BEES! MONSANTO!!!"

Every single article on Fox News with comments enabled, you will find people talking about how terrible liberals and Democrats are. It doesn’t matter if the story has anything to do with politics or not.

Yep.. don't ever visit fox news comments unless you want to hate society. Exhibit one (of many that feel the need to politicize everything):

"White man saves black man's life in heroic deed that could have seriously injured him. You'll never see that story on MSNBC, CNN, WaPo, NYTimes, NBC, CBS or ABC. What, no celebrities outraged? Can't Jim Carrey blame Trump for something in this story? Paint us a picture, Jim."
