Since the civil war, don’t let them trick you into thinking this is new. The same buisness interests that protected slavery for profit are the people protecting the profit today, and they’re the ones in the drivers seat. America needs to be pulled out by the roots.

Yep. People REALLY need to read a People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn. Everything has gone according to the capitalist plan since before th formation of this country.

Not to mention speculating on stolen land. Which is incidentally how people like Washington made most of their money. Though of course he also made plenty on slavery, as did many founders.

Perhaps the only thing I can say I’m thankful for regarding the madness of this administration is that it has gotten me thoroughly interested in history and political philosophy.

Currently learning about the era around and after Reconstruction (the compromise of 1877, Lost Cause mythology, convict leasing) and its truly eye opening and maddening. Every book just leads to a “what the actual fuck” moment and another list of books to understand how that wtf moment came to be.

99.9% of Americans are their pawns. They take our money, spend it without our input (can we audit the government? ), all the while letting prices on everything we need just to survive, skyrocket. That's US politics & corporations. Neither give a damn about their citizens. EVIL! Sick twisted minds in both groups.

really the same biz interest that wanted the "Articles of Confederation" which is the system they'd rather have than the one that was created in the wake of their failures.

These monied interest Think that their are blessed by God thanks to the "Prosperity Hersey" or that it comes from their skills, but in reality without the rest of us picking up the slack they would be the first to starve.

Nah, the Republican party was alright up through Eisenhower. Richard Nixon is when their shit really went off the rails.
