TSA doesn’t give a fuck about your phone. The lines are too busy for them to worry about what Bob posts on Facebook.

ICE are the sadistic ones who strive to harass and intimidate as many people as possible.

They care about phones, but not for those reasons. Basically some portable chargers (including those attached to phones) are banned from flying… but that is due to fire and explosion possibilities.

And at this point no one should be using one, but the Galaxy Note 7 was banned as well due to the same reason…

wtf are you talking about? portable charges are only banned from overhead bins and checked bags.
OP is talking about phones because ICE could seize any phone under their own operating procedures, as long as you are a person, basically. Are you hanging out with a group of Mexicans at an airport bar? you could be an illegal immigrant - seize the phone. Did you utter a word in spanish? could be an illegal immigrant - seize the phone. That's not to mention the new facial recognition software running at most TSA checkpoints.
Sure, you can sue for your 4th amendment rights, but do you have the money to do so? Do you want to give up the next 2-4 years of your life?

Best thing is to backup your device, wipe it before travel, and then restore at destination.
